Had a lazy week, really should have knuckled down, but the suns out and I've been playing with this little spud..

        Back to the motor..

        Clocks re assembled. ☺️

Had a last minute hangs of heart with the wheel colour choice, still orange, but darker and gloss. VW burnt orange.

        Compared to the old colour.

        Far richer me thinks.

                Thanks lads..

It's been a week if firsts (and bad pictures!)

                First off was wet sanding..

Since ballbags dropped my wing it needed painting again, so before had tried a sand a polish..

                Before

                During

                After.

Chuffed with that, however it just as well it's getting painted again.

Paint burnt like a meth head and his pipe..

Second was building up the spilts.

It ain't pretty, they need a good clean.

But if they hold air and balance I'll be a happy lad..

                Story of my week.

Hectic couple of weeks with work and birthdays and guff means the ol' girls been a bit neglected..

                  Fitted some tyres..

Fitment was a bit weak for my liking, changed for a 175/50.

Got my finger out if my arse and started the wet sanding and polishing..

                  Slowly getting there.,

It very straight forward, make sure you've got plenty of light a go supper easy on the coarser grade papers, you don't wanna spend all your time sanding out deep scratches you put in..

I haven't used these, but these kits look good. http://bit.ly/1hk6k06

                      Finally touched down..

                      Well, casters..

Thought I'd wheel it in to the sun, it didn't end well..
Turns out halogen lights are useless, the paints a state.

Gonna give it another coat now the weathers a bit more predictable.

                      Anyway bought some little bits.

Felt a bit disheartened, so built up the rear..

What grit sandpaper did you use to wet sand?

Love the car and the progress thats been made to it

                          Cheers bro!

Started with 1200, then 1500, 2000,2500,3000.. Then polished with some menzerna 400 on a white lake country pad.. It's a lot of work, and it's still not finished..

Really wasn't happy with the paint, after a week of sanding and polishing it looked a state. Strike thrus, thin patches, scratches. So with some nice weather on the cards taped it up and started again.

Warm dry conditions, lead to this.

                            Much happier.

Then the re build could start.

Back end built and wired in.

An after a last minute, 160mile, round trip to kent on Saturday morning to pick my re tapped adapters up.

BOOM! Home for a clean for dubs at the park.

Well chuffed. Handling needs a bit of a tweet.
                            But overall not bad..

                            Here she is.
