UPDATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Been a long time since an update, so i got my airride in a few months ago, Decided to go with v2 for my management and went dual 400cc compressors with 3/8 lines
and i sent my airstruts off to Wildmans shop so he could weld the brackets in place, got them back a week before SOWO and Ashton did a great job on them.
I was going to originally throw them in that week when i got them and ride up to SOWO but we ended up crunching time to finishing my fiances mk4 for sowo, doing airride and wrapping it and all so i didnt have timebut her car was looking awesome atleast for SOWO so that was more important then a kia going up there
So while i was up in SOWO i kept seeing all these awesome trunk setups with hardlines and all and i just had to do it, so when i got back i ended up buying two 4 gallon Seamless air tanks in raw finish, and i was orignally gonna do a steampunkinsh trunk setup but changed my mind and decided to do a clean anticish look, So i went and bought pine wood boards and beat the shit out of them, lit them on fire, nailed them, sanded them and stained them and ended up with this
After that i went and got my brass fittings and copper lines, and i had my friend Chris who owns Malihini customs come and do my trunk setup and so far hes doing an awesome job, right now its halfway done, with the floor we lifted the floor up from the trunk a few inches so we could nail boards down for a more antic/patina look, we made the middle of the trunk completely removable so i could get to my compressors and management. So when the piece is in you cant see at all that the floor can lift up.
After that came the hardlines, this is only halfway done, still have more hardlines to do and still have to do the copper lines transition through the floor with brass fittings so it doesnt look tacky, after he finishes all the lines im going to polish all of the lines and brass fittings and clear coat them
Getting prettttty dang excited now, so hopefully its done by this week and we can put the airride in by next weekend and be ready to goInstagram|Tiedtoagrizzley
