There is more to this but the other 2 braces I made are rigid and no more than a flat 1" by 1/8" stainless plate so I figured I would post the interesting one of the three

With great heat comes great heat responsibilities, so I am making a heat shield

Starting with the mounting points on the crossover tube

     photo DSC01885.jpg

     photo DSC01886.jpg

This is kind of a specific problem solver but if you don't have a 4 jaw chuck and find yourself needing to chuck a piece of 3/8" stainless square stock then a cheap deep socket will be all you need

     photo DSC01887.jpg

Obviously it has many limits and is nothing more than a quick fix but dammit it worked flawlessly

     photo DSC01889.jpg

    I simply needed a hole

     photo DSC01891.jpg

    Threaded the squares

     photo DSC01894.jpg

Clamped these little guys to the crossover tube and weld

     photo DSC01896.jpg

Stop reading this and buy these Kant Twist clamps right now, by far the most used tool next to my own hands, yes they are expensive and no do not buy cheap ones, you can thank me later when you are surrounded by ladies that heard you bought them

     photo DSC01961.jpg

Sheet of .065 aluminum I will be using to cut the necessary pieces

     photo DSC01909.jpg

Holding in this old school vise to square up sides and deburr

     photo DSC01902.jpg

Also buy one of these if you can, they are cheap and built to last forever apparently since mine is at the very least a 100 years old

     photo DSC01908.jpg

    One of many peices

     photo DSC01912.jpg

Round stock of delrin to create the bend

     photo DSC01915.jpg

     photo DSC01917.jpg

Now repeat a bunch of times and you get this weird looking creature

     photo DSC01899.jpg

     photo DSC01920.jpg

     photo DSC01924.jpg

If your phobic of centipedes then you will **** this

     photo DSC01927.jpg

A little bit of elbow grease and scuff pad

     photo DSC01928.jpg

     photo DSC01931.jpg

    Rivets!!

     photo DSC01933.jpg

     photo DSC01939.jpg

Reminds me of a suit of armor and thats kind of where I got the idea

     photo DSC01943.jpg

     photo DSC01945.jpg

     photo DSC01950.jpg

     photo DSC01955.jpg

That is how you make a centipede/armor/heat shield, it will known as the Heat Armorpede
