    useful updates soon.

list of things i need is too long

i got a lot accomplished today, called off work sick

    started out with this:

cut out the battery tray, still needs a bit more grinding:

also, made a pretty big decision, i decided to move the fusebox inside the car. i felt like i just wouldnt be happy with it still being in the engine bay after all the other work im doing. so inside it goes, hopefully my labeling was good enough for me to get it back together

door is getting replaced and was in the way. removed it, also cut off the pinch weld on the drivers side

    Getting there

i also wanna pretend that rust in the wheel well isnt there

    fun stuff.

Quick update, cleaned some grease out of the bay, removed all of the sound deadening, pulled out the engine harness and brake booster, dropped the subframe, control arms and all front suspension. it was a pretty productive day

Always liked how gnarly this car is and glad to see it getting a full build, especially with skid racing in its future! Not at all jealous of what you need to do to your bay, since I just went through it. Lots of suck in your future. Are the holes in the strut towers too big to weld up? That's what I did and its a whole lot easier than tubbing.

i finally have all my megasquirt in hand and all of my engine parts except the crank and pistons shipped out today.
i want to see this car at WBTB on March 22.

if i can make it, you can make it...
I want to make it, depends on how long all the body work takes me. im shooting for having the body work in the bay done by mid january. then hopefully the whole car can go to paint by mid february. if that all happens that way then ill come for sure, otherwise sowo it is.

I got off my ass and did some things tonight, not a ton but its progress for sure.

    I started with this:

    IMG_20131123_161613_440 by Ryan_E30, on Flickr

I unwrapped the drivers side harness and separated all the wires i wont be needing anymore (a/c fan, abs, other stuff) and i also cut a couple i wasnt supposed to.

    IMG_20131125_225021_173 by Ryan_E30, on Flickr

cut off most of the brackets, need a smaller grinder to get to the hard to reach ones though

    IMG_20131125_225110_933 by Ryan_E30, on Flickr

I also removed my wiper linkage assembly because ill be shaving the wiper holes, almost regret it because that was an awful pain in the ass to get out. working on shaving the blower motor cover as well since ill paint it to match the rest of the bay.

    IMG_20131126_243234_101 by Ryan_E30, on Flickr

I also am gonna have to fix this, the frame is bent up slightly from a past accident i had never really noticed before

    IMG_20131125_225219_612 by Ryan_E30, on Flickr

thats all for tonight, Im off work tomorrow so it should be a productive day.

Im also very seriously considering tubbing it, since when i removed most of the brackets they left big holes, so i would have to make plates to cover them anyways, and after next year ill be setting the car up for drifting so that way the tubbing will be done already. i also decided to make the core support bolt in to make everything much easier in the long run.

    ill get another update tomorrow,
