Been a long time since I updated this! My quest for low was put on pause while I supplemented the engine with turbo parts. I finally finished that late March. Since then, I've just been driving the teg as my daily. It still needs to be tuned but the basemap it's on is good for now. (I know, I know. Not the greatest idea but it's my car and if it blows up I took the risk and will live with it.) Basemap came from a reputable tuner. (Phearable for the Honda fans)
Other than that, I'm back to looking for low again. Having a set of modified drop forks made, still waiting for them but hopefully they should be here soon. That should bring the front down some. The rear can get lower than the front. So with that I'll leave this right here,

Think I'll set the camber a bit more positive to bring the top of the wheel more in line with the fender.

Still need to refinish the set of RS' too...

So many projects. Not enough time... Thanks full time job and family. Lol. Just kidding, support from both are what float this hobby of mine. Cheers everyone!

I'm glad you updated. I like this build a lot! And you're one of the only other Tegs I know of that are on air too.

Do you have a pic of your management set up? I'm trying to figure out how I want to do mine in the hatch.

Thanks! I don't have pics of my management set up at the moment. mainly because its nothing fancy... just have the tank bolted down onto the plywood spare tire cover in the back with the trunk carpet kinda covering half of the trunk. I'll shoot a photo or two when i get the chance.
Really want to do the popular wood floor thing back there... Just gotta find the time.

Noooooooooooooo I was gonna do the wood floor and now I'll look like a copycat

But I'm totally gonna jack one of your ideas. How do you like that Shark Attack antenna? My OEM antenna has never worked, and it's actually missing the metal antenna that comes out of the hole! I've been looking for a replacement and that one looks clean

You'll probably beat me to the wood floor, lol. I lack the free time, so go for it! We can probably learn from each other on the process.

And I dig the Shark antenna. Had it for years now with no issues. I think its a great replacement for the retractable OEM one. haven't experienced any leaks or negative issues with it either.

So I ordered a set of modified drop forks for the DB8 back in June and finally received them this past week. They were made by a Matt Begley (MerricaMatt on Instagram). You may know him for a cream colored, slammed TSX on BBS RS'.

Here are the shortened forks. I found him on Instagram and he has apparently made many sets of modified forks via a specific cast welding process. I didn't find any negative comments so I figured I'd order a set.

The purpose of ordering a set of modified forks was to get the DB8 to sit lower... Well, the forks didn't achieve the goal because what's holding mine back is the upper control arms. On another members thread here, someone from the UK modified a set of forks and spindle arms via the same method. So I guess I'll be holding on to the forks for awhile until I sort out the upper control arm area for "moar low".

In other news, we traded in my wife's FA5 last year and got her into a Mini Countryman All4. Before we did, we replaced her Project Kics R26 lug nuts with a set of BWR ones before the trade.

I finally remembered to put them on the teg. And yes, I know the lug nuts are worth half as much as the XXR's... One day they'll go behind the waffle covers of the BBS RS' I have yet to finish refurbishing. lol.

                Excuse the dirty wheels,

Also put the ITR front lip back on. It is extremely dirty and still has remnants of sticker adhesive back when it was sticker bombed. :roll eyes: gives the visual illusion of "moar low"

Instagram photo with the hashtags of #looksbetteroninstagram and #roofrackworksparttime. Lol

Love the rack. Whoever you bought those RS from did a hell of a job making your life miserable....Can't wait to see this thing with those wheels. What color waffles/ centers are you doing?

I follow MericaMatt on IG. I've been seriously contemplating a set of those drop forks, since they say our Tegs never sit low enough on air. How's your first impression of the quality of those forks? I don't want to drop $140 bones on a set of shotty forks.
Other than that, the DB8 looks DBgreat! [See what I did there?] Really motivates me to get to working on my DC.

Seems like people either love or **** roof racks. The roof rack elitists seem to think if it isn't being used 40+ hours a week then its a bandwagon fad and **** to no end. Mine, works part time, lol. The occasional tough box for military gear, bringing home a new steam cleaner. Smelly athletic shoes I don't want in the cabin or trunk.
And yes, I picked up the RS' not knowing what I was getting into as far as refurbishing. I just loved the classic design. Curses to the previous owner! I'm thinking of an OEM+ look so maybe a powder coated silver/gray... Any suggestions?

I jumped on the forks when I saw MericaMatt was offering them because in the past modified forks were hard to find. Late 90's early 2000's Suspension Techniques actually use to make a set of lowering forks for integra's. Those are so rare that if you ever come across them, 9 times out of 10 they are expensive as hell. ASC Speedmetal fabricates their own drop forks but they run $500+. I figured I'd give MerricaMatt's a try. No bad reviews that I could find so I jumped at it. Only issue is they took more than a month to get to me. He seems to be backlogged. The quality seems sufficient. I only installed them and drove around for about a day before going back to my stock ones. What I found is that I had to run higher bag pressures up front to compensate for the shorter forks. But again, aired out I wasn't getting any lower since the upper area is where my hurdles are at. Mainly the UCA's and the shock tower area.
And thanks for the compliment! Can't wait for the day that I finally get a full paint job to restore the exterior! Till then it #looksbetteroninstagram. haha.
And keep up the work on your DC! The motivation is mutual! Seeing other teg owners getting stancey or putting in work makes me all like "I need to work on mines too!" lol

I wonder if going to the Skunk2 upper control arms would be enough to get the arms to clear in the front. That being said, the hardrace units look like the upper ball joint is held in much better.

I personally think you should either do a dark gray or white on the faces. Or be weird and do some totally extraneous color.

What's your IG? I want to follow more Honda people that aren't obsessed with 1/4 mile times.

i think they might. i even cut the shock tower in the area commonly needing to be cut. but the hardrace's beefy arms are where i'm stuck.
i've actually had both styles and never had an issue with the ball joints so i may try the skunk2 style in the future.
