Installed my other throttlebody and moved away from the engine bay.
Cleaned up my struts that will be used for thw coilovers I will have to paint them I'll be be using metalcast paint so im limited with colours.
then I decided to check out the hacked up wiring under the dash. Wish I haven't lol.
I want to try for 15's first and see if I can make it work the fender flares I have coming are from a corolla so im hoping to reduce my arch diameter too.
Im very new to stance and I don't really know how to stance, but I do know what I like and hopefully you lot will enjoy.
I am struggling with tire sizes though its a 7inch wide rim, I dont want any stretch if anything I want the opposite, I want a meaty looking tyre that will fill the fender flares.
That being the case, 17"s are to big to add enough tire to make it look good. go with some fat 16's... There are plenty of great looking dsm's with stock 16's and meaty tires. There is also a good looking galant with a similar set up somewhere on here.
Gearbox off and the only apparent problem was the tob clip was broken, so I have ordered a replacement and will pull the clutch to check that out. And also add a shim to the pivot ball.
Don't worry about knowing 'how to stance' it will come to you naturally.
Just be patient with your build, and if you have friends with low offset wheels, go try them on. Or what you can do is measure how much wider your wheel well will be with the new fender flares and grab some offset numbers off of a 1g DSM and add the width of the fender to it.
So it's like:
what is flush on a 1g dsm = x
how wide your fender flares are in mm = y
what your current offset needs to be = z
x+y=z
Have you thought about doing a desert camouflage look?

I bought this car off a buddy with the intentions of swapping my fwd motor in it and calling it a day.
then I found a motor for cheap, then I found a good deal on a big 16g turbo which in turn put me on the look out for injectors, pump etc etc.
so a few grand of parts and the car still wasn't looking any differant and certainly wasn't moving.
But I made small amounts of progress working a hour a night in my garage which is directly under my little girls bed room, wrenching in absolute fear of waking up a toddler makes for slow progress but I got the motor in and on the first turn it fired right up
2 problems, car would idle surge at 2k-2.5k and the clutch wouldnt engage.
I realised that it wasn't coming out to play in the snow so it became a full on winter project.
I had a few sets of wheels kicking around but I want to try something really different, dsms especially 1gs tend to be stock or quarter mile monsters but I am going for some aggressive style and will aim for 300ish hp nothing crazy.
so I just bought some fender flares and some american racing wheels off a jeep.
The car was allways going satin tan and now with black fenders it should look pretty mean.
Anyways this will go slow as I work alot of hours and interest has been lacking lately. (Was one of the reasons for making this thread, inject some life in to the project).
Heres a few random pics and some of my inspiration the rest of the build pics will be more organised.
