it looked great in the can.... we sprayed a test panel...unless we REALLY dumbed back the blue pearl, or dumped TONNES more in, it looked tacky...it would take away from the clean look of the car.....the second colour, we will add a bit more blue pearl to it tho.

    yep. she lays frame

    my dogs are effing epic.

    DOG PICS!

    puppy:

one of the colours i'm debating on for the 64.

Black with heavy blue pearl...that's it......

the other colour is a VW blue pearl, or the first generation viper dark blue.

I want to keep the colour dark and classy.

to this colour...yes? no?...it's a solid black with heavy blue pearl.

today we started sanding the outside, fixing small issues/imperfections.

next up, the doors come off, jambs get done, under the fenders, front rad support off and prepped, trunk and hood refinished.

did a 230 psi test for the bags today.

I think it's time for dual port bags.

in addition to that, allllll trims and clips off, did crazy degreasing...SO much krown grease. washed the car, and looked it over to address known issues.

monday the sanding and work starts!

    Today in the paint shop.....

    laying frame in the shop:

urethane stuff behind the trims...water seal?

    [/QUOTE]

we took off all the trims on the doors and under the rear window - which required removing the interior....GOD that was horrible to do. LOL

Tomorrow we clean the body, look over it for areas we know will need work, start sanding/prepping!

under the chrome trims. %100 original trims too, original metal! not rotten one bit.

the holes in the doors for the trims. not one inch of rust at all...

she got so filthy on the flat bed home, but - it will always look worse before it looks better.

The rear seats had to come out, so we could get out the lower portion of the head liner... behind the lower headliner is little nuts that hold on the chrome trim at the base/side of the rear window... So much work for 2 nuts per side.....

this is why the car is so solid...inside of the door shot. NO rust or holes at the bottom of the door. the previous owner loved this car and sprayed it religiously - which is why I snapped it up right when I saw it.

%100 original rear seats. Original vinyl, original foam.

and we finished off the day with 1 beer :P
