  • its just a focus...

Hey all. im a long time lurker but this is the abridged version of my first stanceworks build thread. she's a CD silver 2000 ford focus zts with a 2.0l zetec and a 5 speed manual. ive had her for just about a year and shes come a long way. lol. still looks like poo. but she's all mine! but before we get into that, lets give you fine readers a bit of history. enjoy.

my first car was a 2000 ford focus zx3, same motor and trans as my current focus. this was my buddy's jetta and my zx3 both in wintermode. but this is what she looked like right before i sold her. minor bolt ons but i didnt get too deep into it.

then at my previous duty station i had a 1984 AE86 corolla sr5, but it was like 95% GT-s converted. 4AGE bluetop with 5 speed manual and JDM rear end (disc to disc).

so here we are to francine. lol. this is from when i first bought her.

    wrapped my interior

threw my roof rack from my hatchback on it. also scored a set of corbeaus from a friend.

then came the lows and wheels! 17x7 ASA EM9s et40 with 205/40 Falken 912s

there is a bunch more, but like i said, this is the abridged version. haha. hope you like it! and btw, im aware of the slight rake. my fronts are maxed out. but new coils are being saved for!

just take out one of the locking rings up front and raise the rear slightly.. Order shorter springs with the the same spring rate for the fronts.

Nice to see a foci getting love

this is a shot of the Sport Appearance Package rear bumper. in order to use this bumper i had to convert the rear of my car to a mk1.5 or "halfgen" rear because this bumper was not offered in a mk1 chassis (98-04) and SVTf side skirts were bought and put on at some point. lol.
        obligatory fuel pump shot. hah.

this was right after i mounted my freshly color matched door handles and mirror caps. theyre not perfect but cant ask too much from a rattle can. lol.

and here is a few shots of my 98 euro front. imported from the UK as foci were not even sold in the US in 98. lol. i didnt import it tho, it popped up in the classifieds of one of the focus forums and i just had to have it. i think i bought this bumper before i even bought the car. lol.

i know shes in rough shape right now. but i am just biding my time until i can make this happen!

        lemme know what you think!

              Yay! No plastishit!

I've always liked 86's, that one looked awesome, but what is disc? Is it a disc brake rear swap, or the trueno redlines?.

I cannot wait to see the focus after paint, that mint color looks great! Maybe you should look into flaring it or something. These cars just look way too tall and skinny.

i just dont like plastidip. i think it looks cheap and tacky. and as far as the 86 goes, i was referring "disc to disc" as it had the jdm spec rear end (differentials, axles, and rear disc brakes) but it also had trueno redlines. lol.

and a little update. i polished my headlights really good. also scored a ford accessories of europe front lip on a steal! so i got that installed. and i also got my eGay intake on that i kept from my old hatchback. its soooo loud compared to the stock intake! even after i took the resonator off of the stock airbox when it was still installed! lol. no pics right now but more will come soon!

I accidentally deleted the other disc in my post hahaha. Isn't the USDM GTS rear end the same as the JDM ae86 rear with disc brakes and the LSD?

Get more full body shots of the focus mane. I'd like to get a better idea of how this thing will end up.

Yeah they're the same but from what I'm told the use spec gts rear doesn't have lsd. And mine was originally an sr5 so it had drum with the weaker diff.

So I got the front end lowered a bit more and I am absolutely stoked about it! I think it looks just perfect. Or at least it will once it settles a little more. My FTG in the rear is 21" even and in the front I'm at about 21.5". With dropping it a little more and getting that euro lip on I'm absolutely in love with it! Here's some pics from this afternoon when it got all buttoned up!

Hope you like it! Yes I know. It needs paint. Lol.

                              It looks way better now.
                              I like it a lot.

But I'm sad you sold your 86..
Some us gts models came with lsd's.
