Sold my teins because they were setup for FWD and got these for the AWD.

    This was maxed out.

So I sent them back to get them shortened.
Got them back and was like this.

Also installed my Calan catch can and finished up the tucked radiator.

Last minute prep to go on a two hour drive to CMI in the morning.

I was actually too low and was rubbing for the first time. This was because I didn't pull out one of my rear fenders as much as the other, but I just raised it a bit to compensate since I wanted to leave by 7am to get there when the gates opened at 9am

Made it there and back home with everything intact so I considered it a successful day. I didn't race it because no tune yet. Waiting for Walbro 450 to come in this week.

Honestly I don't know how much it is making.
    I'm shooting for around 520 on 91 and around 660ish with e85.

    It's currently FWD. Well... was.

And yeah I'll get rid of the XXR's as soon as I'm done fiddling with other things.

I couldn't resist guys. I got quick releases for my bumper. All I can say is that it is one of my favorite purchases for this car. It comes in handy wayyyy too often.

I'm not sure if I mentioned that my rack and pinion were shot and I was leaking through my tie rod boot, but I swapped it out when I installed my new MR2 power steering.

    New vs Old

At this point I was pretty much broke.

And that new rack and pinion we installed went out within the week we put it in. So no power steering for now.

Then my brother and I decided we wanted to sell the 1g GSX. He didn't have time to build a project car for himself anymore and it was just taking up space in the garage.

Upside is I can park like a dick in the garage now.

My EVO III parts came in from japan. The intake and TB is bigger than my stock one.

    Annnddddddddddddddddd.

I always said I wouldn't bother with AWD unless I found the parts for cheap.

    Well..

We went out on a 3 hour trip around 8pm. The ad for the gsx never mentioned the car not running, so we went out in my brother's girlfriend's little honda assuming one of us would drive the car back home.

    NOPE>
So we called a tow truck but they wanted ~1400 to tow the car, more than what we were paying for it.

We told the owner we would come in the morning.

Next morning was Presidents Day. All the Uhauls in my town were closed, so we had to pick a trailer up on the way to the car.

    Picked her up

    Food stop.

    And home!

The ad said that the valve cover had a hole on it and was leaking from there which is why he stopped driving it. We were curious as to why. So we disassembled it the same day.

The head looked immaculate. The block could be honed though. And his stock turbo was absolutely without a doubt TOAST. But we weren't really worried about the engine in the first place.
So with the car at home we called it a day.

Next day, our friend with the SRT4 came over. He wanted to see how my wheels fit his, so we swapped wheels for a bit.

Not sure if fan. I like them better on his carro.

Fittings and line came in to do my scirocco radiator swap.

While he was working on his shitty car, we decided to take apart the suspension on the gsx, but we ran into a little problem.

LOCKS. And the owner didn't have the key for it.

    So we improvised.

It worked for 3 outta 4 wheels. The last one decided to be a bitch.

    This is the result.

The next day and a half with lots of hammering, chiseling, and two burnt grinders, we got the rest of it off the hub.
We also managed to get the gas tank, rear subframe, driveshaft, and tranfercase off.

I got a little angry at that hub though. Sorry quarter panel.

So this is the last night my car can be called a GST.

The next morning, I realized I was missing four jack stands. I remembered they were on my brother Golf at his house.

I left his car on tires...

Took apart my interior to prepare it for cutting and welding of the AWD parts.

We managed to put the AWD gas tank and subframe in with the rear differential, but got stuck because our spot weld cutter broke.

So we called it a night.

Tuesday, I was supposed to pick up new tips for the spot weld cutter but the shop ordered the wrong size.

Stuck, I went back home to a UPS package.

My T4 twinscroll housing for the HX40 had come in.

While I was out there I decided to mock up the scirocco radiator.

It gave me a lot more room. Before, the wastegate would hit the fins on the radiator.

Today, I received the right tips for the spot weld cutter, so I hope to finish the AWD swap this weekend.

A couple of things happened. First, my mr2 power steering decided to blow up on me.

I thought at first one of my tie rods broke. I was leaving my parking spot when I heard a loud "pop" and then I couldn't turn the steering wheel anymore. Turns out I was just being a weenie and not turning hard enough.

So after I figured that out I checked my fuses and they were all good. Stumped, I took off my bumper as usual and decided to open up the power steering's ecu. Then I saw this...

My car has been garaged for a couple of days now. It should be back with power steering on Wednesday.

But I couldn't just leave my car untouched all those days it was garaged.

I got up early one morning and dismantled my brothers project 1g gsx. I took his turbo set up off and wondered if it would fit on my car. He has a twin scroll t4 6266 while I have an open t3 Hx40.

I had to slightly modify my block to get his manifold to fit.

Mocked up. I couldn't use my radiator because my hose got in the way of the turbo, so I stole his radiator too.

    All together now.

    His radiator was shot.
Oh well, at least I found that out before he did on start up of his car. So I threw it out.

I wasn't about to give up there and put my old set up back on though.

And this is how it sits as of five minutes ago.

His downpipe was 3.5in while my exhaust is 3in. So, of course a new downpipe is slowly being made.

    That's all for now.

Yeah, it really is! And it's a pain in the ass getting it off 24/7. I swear I've taken it off at least once every other day for various reasons lol.
Every time I lift the car I have to take it off too, don't want to smash the lip.

Which is making me seriously consider the quick release. My tabs on the end of the bumper to put the bolt through are broken, so it would eliminate that problem too. I've just had it fixed with fiber glass, and drilled a hole through it and nutted it on the back. Works for now.

So, I left you guys off with a blurry picture last time as bad news. This is what happened.

As always, I decided to ghetto fix it.

    The setup up.

After a couple of passes and a night of fiber-glassing.

    After more fiber-glassing.

And the end result. I painted the broken side with plasti-dip, lol.

This has gotta be one of the best DSM builds I have EVER seen! Being from wisconsin I am surrounded by rusty ass underbodies (especially on my talon) and nonexistent front strut towers on 2g's, so it's a nice change to see a pretty much perfect 2g. Keep it up!

Thank you guys. I'll put the hoosiers on when the time is right

    But time for an update!

My parts came in. I ordered a MilSpec 200 cell cat, and a vibrant "ultra quiet" resonator, and a lot of vbands, to try and quiet my exhaust down.

Luckily I had left over 3in from when I fabbed up my exhaust. Well I should say, helped my brother out. He's my welder

Here's what we had to work with. He already welded on the vbands to the ends of the new items.

We measured it off to try and get a close match, as we were going to make this whole section removable.

    Our work area lol.

    And here's the final product

    Removable cat & resonator!

This is how we removed and put on the exhaust lol,

And I also got a shout out on instagram by StanceNation! I thought it was pretty cool.

I can't end this update with all good news though.
