Honestly I don't know how much it is making.
      I'm shooting for around 520 on 91 and around 660ish with e85.

      It's currently FWD. Well... was.

And yeah I'll get rid of the XXR's as soon as I'm done fiddling with other things.

I couldn't resist guys. I got quick releases for my bumper. All I can say is that it is one of my favorite purchases for this car. It comes in handy wayyyy too often.

I'm not sure if I mentioned that my rack and pinion were shot and I was leaking through my tie rod boot, but I swapped it out when I installed my new MR2 power steering.

      New vs Old

At this point I was pretty much broke.

And that new rack and pinion we installed went out within the week we put it in. So no power steering for now.

Then my brother and I decided we wanted to sell the 1g GSX. He didn't have time to build a project car for himself anymore and it was just taking up space in the garage.

Upside is I can park like a dick in the garage now.

My EVO III parts came in from japan. The intake and TB is bigger than my stock one.

      Annnddddddddddddddddd.

I always said I wouldn't bother with AWD unless I found the parts for cheap.

      Well..

We went out on a 3 hour trip around 8pm. The ad for the gsx never mentioned the car not running, so we went out in my brother's girlfriend's little honda assuming one of us would drive the car back home.

      NOPE>
So we called a tow truck but they wanted ~1400 to tow the car, more than what we were paying for it.

We told the owner we would come in the morning.

Next morning was Presidents Day. All the Uhauls in my town were closed, so we had to pick a trailer up on the way to the car.

      Picked her up

      Food stop.

      And home!

The ad said that the valve cover had a hole on it and was leaking from there which is why he stopped driving it. We were curious as to why. So we disassembled it the same day.

The head looked immaculate. The block could be honed though. And his stock turbo was absolutely without a doubt TOAST. But we weren't really worried about the engine in the first place.
So with the car at home we called it a day.

Next day, our friend with the SRT4 came over. He wanted to see how my wheels fit his, so we swapped wheels for a bit.

Not sure if fan. I like them better on his carro.

Fittings and line came in to do my scirocco radiator swap.

While he was working on his shitty car, we decided to take apart the suspension on the gsx, but we ran into a little problem.

LOCKS. And the owner didn't have the key for it.

      So we improvised.

It worked for 3 outta 4 wheels. The last one decided to be a bitch.

      This is the result.

The next day and a half with lots of hammering, chiseling, and two burnt grinders, we got the rest of it off the hub.
We also managed to get the gas tank, rear subframe, driveshaft, and tranfercase off.

I got a little angry at that hub though. Sorry quarter panel.

So this is the last night my car can be called a GST.

The next morning, I realized I was missing four jack stands. I remembered they were on my brother Golf at his house.

I left his car on tires...

Took apart my interior to prepare it for cutting and welding of the AWD parts.

We managed to put the AWD gas tank and subframe in with the rear differential, but got stuck because our spot weld cutter broke.

So we called it a night.

Tuesday, I was supposed to pick up new tips for the spot weld cutter but the shop ordered the wrong size.

Stuck, I went back home to a UPS package.

My T4 twinscroll housing for the HX40 had come in.

While I was out there I decided to mock up the scirocco radiator.

It gave me a lot more room. Before, the wastegate would hit the fins on the radiator.

Today, I received the right tips for the spot weld cutter, so I hope to finish the AWD swap this weekend.

Sold my teins because they were setup for FWD and got these for the AWD.

        This was maxed out.

So I sent them back to get them shortened.
Got them back and was like this.

Also installed my Calan catch can and finished up the tucked radiator.

Last minute prep to go on a two hour drive to CMI in the morning.

I was actually too low and was rubbing for the first time. This was because I didn't pull out one of my rear fenders as much as the other, but I just raised it a bit to compensate since I wanted to leave by 7am to get there when the gates opened at 9am

Made it there and back home with everything intact so I considered it a successful day. I didn't race it because no tune yet. Waiting for Walbro 450 to come in this week.

Hey thanks man. Well since you bumped I might as well update a bit.

So on the way to CMI I noticed my 5th would sometimes pop out of gear, and on the following days my reverse wouldn't go in.

Turns out this little fucker was loose on the AWD tranny I had swapped in. This little nut keeps all of the gears held together and was hand tight

With that being found, I also decided to do regular maintenance on the car; new oem oil pump, new hydraulic timing tensioner, new timing belt, etc.

Oh and the Wally 450 came in too.

So since my car was going down, I decided to take a peek on craigslist for shits n giggles, but I could have not looked at a better time. I found a pretty good deal on an Eagle Talon TSi AWD, family owned.

Picked it up the next day.
Pictured is my brother with the 88 535i lol. (Drosas)

It was sun faded for sitting so long, but everything was in working condition, all stock!

The plan was to keep it all stock, just with some aesthetics.
So we did what any reasonable person would do.

                    Cut the springs.

Since my car was going to be out of commission for a bit, I decided to throw on the xxr's onto the talon.

Was not a fan of the 2ga bumper though so I found a 2gb bumper for it.

As per regimen, I painted it with Rust-Oleum the same day & threw it on.

                    Much better.

One day at work I was pretty bored, so I scrolled along the EvoM forums, low and behold I found the famous 2DR Evo selling his brembos. I've been looking for brembos for a couple of years, but finally had some money, so I immediately texted him and got em.

Ordered new lines and adapter brackets for them too.
Putting the adapter brackets was a bitch though, had to shave down the knuckles and the caliper a bit, as well as thread a hole.

I also picked up a 3G BB and MBC because I was still on the GST ones, which wouldn't flow enough fluid for the brembos.

Installed it, it cleaned up my firewall a bit.

This is how she's currently sitting, waiting for some Motul fluid to come in.

I should now mention that my brother (drosas, with the 88 535i) sold the Talon to my eldest brother, the one that helped me build my green eclipse to be able to buy this.

An e36! Some interesting ideas for it.

                    But that's for his thread.

Now I mention my brother. The plan was to keep the car stock, but knowing him and I... Well.

                    Stock.

                    Less stock.

                    And uhm...
