Yeah, but the leak seems to be coming from the top of the A pillar, could it be getting there all the way from the sunroof?

If you look in your door jam between the hinges there will be a rubber spout sticking out of the side of the car. Try and clean that out the best you can. There is a tube that runs from the top of your A pillar to that spout. If the spout gets clogged it will fill the tube and pour out your headliner

Thanks everyone for your input on the leak. Cleaning the spout may have fixed it I put a pencil in the passenger spout, and water started gushing out did the same thing to the driver's side just to see if that was normal, and nothing came out of that side, so I guess I'll see if that fixed it after it rains again.

Also, I finally got the alignment done at the VW dealership because that was the only place I've found that could do it without hitting the fenders. It took them four hours
That gave me plenty of time to look around, and they had a manual Tiguan on the lot. I didn't know that they sold those in the US market. The guy I talked to at the dealership said the PO special ordered it, and that they are really rare and used ones usually sell within a couple days once they are on the lot.

Friday and Saturday, I helped my friend do his suspension on his 525i. By helped I mean I really only handed him tools and figured out how to get the front shock out because it was stuck, because I'm not very experienced mechanically. I hope it settles quite a bit, but he doesn't want it to get much lower and here's a pic, because who doesn't like pics, even though it's not my car

Get your fenders rolled so the alignment shops wont bitch about it next time. They don't want the liability of cracking the paint on your fenders.

It's actually tan, my flash in the dark made it look that way.

I really badly want Style 5's but I don't have that kind of money and it would take some work to make them fit. I don't know much about offsets and such, but I think they will sit something like 10mm further out on the back and 20mm in the front. That is style 5s without spacers vs. the long beaches with the 10 mm front and 20mm rear spacers. I guess that means they'd have to be redrilled because adapters would make the offsets even crazier, and I would need quite the stretch, the fenders would have to be pulled, and the car would have to be lower as well.

One more thing, I read about redrilling them once and apparently the center bore is almost too big for a 5x100, so I'd have to find out if it would be safe before I bought them.

But I actually really like my long beaches... at least for now

Well my Monday certainly could have started better.


It started surging really hard and the check engine light was flashing, but I'm not sure what's wrong with it yet.

It turns out it didn't have a problem, the code wasn't still being pulled when it got to the shop, and it ran just fine. But we had them run compression tests and everything and no problem, so I guess that's good.

They said it was probably water in the intake, which is odd since it was not very wet from the rain over night and I didn't hit a puddle or anything? What a waste of time and money.

since this was bumped up, they didn't find anything wrong and by the time they got it in the shop, it wasn't pulling a code. They blamed it on water in the intake because it rained the night before, but it wasn't wet enough anymore for that. Now it's got me paranoid when I drive in the rain though.


Also, I bought black door cars inserts because the tan ones are falling apart, and I'm halfway through one, but it doesn't stay in well, it's kind of hard to explain but the way they stay in is really cheap and sort of fell apart, so I'll have to figure out how to glue the new one in, but just sitting in there, it looks so much better than the old one

small update: I have replaced the front two door card inserts, and gave it a much needed wash.
When I get them all replaced, I'll start stripping the old ones and covering them in brown suede. Motivation is low for that because I don't mind the way these look, but it'll have to be done sometime because my headliner is just starting to come apart and I want to do the suede on that too.

Nice ride! Just a tip : when removing plasti dip from a surface that makes peeling difficult use graffiti remover. I had my roof dipped black and I was to lazy to peel. Sprayed graffiti remover and wah law! Dip came off when I sprayed with a hose.

Update time!

I went to the junkyard and got a three spoke steering wheel for $35. My friend took it off for me and I have to wait until we're both motivated to put it in the car because he has one tool that I don't to get it on and I'm not motivated enough to go buy that tool myself.


And for the bigger update! I got a set of OEM hid reps off a semi local guy. I'm not a fan of buying reps of anything, but I wanted hids, don't have the skill to build retrofits, and the real OEM hids aren't worth the $2000 people want for them. Yeah my finger is in the picture, but I couldn't be bothered to take another

When i first saw the OEM hids on the jettas, I wasn't a fan, but I actually really like them now. I do realize they aren't to everyone's taste though

You don't need the steering wheel puller, just shake the steering wheel at the 3 and 9 oclock positions repeatedly, and it comes off. Thats after taking off the nut in the middle of course.
