Re-Birth of a once famous E38

So I got the 2 issues fixed. The machine company only took 5mm off of the backpad on 1 of my rear wheels which was causing the major rubbing on the driver side and the LOUD rotational noise I was hearing was the lug bolts were hitting the brake rotor shield so I took out the grinder and shortened the rear 10 lug bolts 8mm each and its now all good.
I think I hit the fitment perfect. I had 4 adults in the car last night and it doesn't rub 1 bit

Some day I get someone who knows what they are doing to take some shots, until then, enjoy my potato shots

Agreed. That makes perfect sense if the drivers side wasn't machined enough and the tick is from the passenger side only.Originally posted by Zic View PostYou should check if the bolts are too long now, and interfere with the handbrake shoes / assembly.
Car looks great. Looking forward to see the swap.
If the car has a stud kit this is all irrelevant.
In for LS swap fun!

this car is going so much farther than it ever would have. those wheels, those lips, that fitment, all the machining, this is an A+ in my book, cannot wait for more updates!

I didn't know how I would feel about the wheels before. Now I see that they work perfectly=)

So, got the wheels and tires put on after a lot of issues.
The machine shop didn't take enough off of the driver rear wheel so it rubs pretty good. I need to take it back in to have another 3mm take off.
I have one hell of a rotational tick coming from the passenger side that I cant figure out.
Other than that, the car runs and drives awesome. The front needs to be lowered another 1/2" or so
Here are some random shots

Up next will be to finish the assembly on the engine and get started with swapping and smoothing the engine bay

The rest of your plans look killer and I look forward to pretending that you didn't pull a BMW engine in favor of a Camaro hauler.
