It was the most sold TR series Triumph ever. Far surpassing the TR-6. It also had a terrible reputation for build quality and the 2.0L is a disaster of a design(forgive me if you are a dolomite/TR7 guy and like these engines). The TR8 was the v8 model that should have come out first.

That being said, these things were very competitive in rally racing with the rover/buick 3.5l V8.
And the LT-77 5spd gearbox and Salisbury rear end aren't bad either. The rear looks like a carbon copy of a Dana 44.

Spent the morning degreasing the motor. after working on 40-50 year old motors for so long, its a total pleasure to work on a modern leak-free engine. The truck sump is about 10 miles deep so either i need an F-body pan or come up with some kind of dry sump.

I'm not planning on running any accessories so i pulled all the cast aluminum mounts. I will melt these down to make more throttle bodies for the ITB setup. Its crazy, with the stock truck intake the throttle is fully above the hoodline.

Check out my other build threads. I have some pics floating around. It kind of became my default work-truck/daily since high school(5-6 years).

A little inspiration. This guy must be running 17"s though. I really want to keep the 15"s because they look a bit more period correct, but its very expensive to get a 10"-12" low profile 15" street tire. More to consider

These seats would match the interior perfectly!

awesome build man. I've got a sot spot for Triumphs so it's nice to see one getting some attention on here. I see that red RMP car at the track all the time...it's an absolute monster

Updates! got to work on the car recently:

Super T-10 Close ratio (2:63 first gear)

Made a 1" dimple die set out of 4130:

Made motor mounts and messed with the TIG at work:

                        Small progress, but hey!

Hah this looks fantastic, hopefully I won't get kicked for inactivity like COD MWF, just because I have no wheels currently.. but good job mate, you have massive talent and skills, good job.
