Rebuilt my Tranny crossmember since I have a small chassis vibration and my rubber in it was destroyed. I found a relatively easy way to go about it.

Cut the rubber out around the edge of the crossmember. Continue by cutting the metal bushing from the rubber. Then go to Home Depot and find, in the plumbing section, a hose that fits very snug into the ends. use this as a starting point. Go to Advance Auto Afterwards (or autozone or o reillys) get some 5/8 tranny line (IIRC it is 5/8) or whatever line fits snug into the larger line. Insert the metal bushing into the smaller line. Insert the largest line into the end of the crossmember and cut off the correct length. Then insert the smaller line (with metal bushing already inserted) into the larger line (already in the crossmember) and voila, you have successfully made new rubber for your crossmember for your 280zx. I wish I had more photos, but I may do a write-up on this down the road. It is way more firm now, and should reduce chassis vibrations.

I finally got my super cool gift in today! Well my 280's gift anyways. My brown turd can look beautiful now with her... Awesome marble shift knob.. Yes, marble. It makes that turd shine like a gem!

And a few shots out today. First time she has been driven in a week. New tranny mount holding up well. still a little vibration, but nothing like it was. feels tons better.
