Don't you think that a 2" straight pipe is a bit small on a car like this? I would do a single 3" with a resonator to a Y pipe with 2 2.5" piping and 2.75" polished tips. Cops won't care as much, and it will look a bit beefier than the current setup.

I'm not really sure on the whole thing yet, it's a bit foreign to me. My plan is to keep it simple and cheap as possible, using the stock exhaust until the cat, going up half an inch at the cat delete, and running that all the way back to whatever tips i decide on. The exhaust shop is run by a friend so we could get it on the lift one day and take a gander at it. I'm going for maximum grumble

XJS' are some of my favorite cars. We just had an x-type at our dealership, which we've had to replace both catalytic converters, the motor, map sensor, and the check engine light is still on-- all under warranty, not so good for us little guys! I hope yours is much sweeter to you hahaha. It's amazing, this car was immaculate when we got it, and right after it sold it had all these problems lol.

My X type runs great, and it has 176k miles on it haha. I'm the 2nd owner and the first really took care of it. I got lucky
