  • Rinky Dinky Willy Wonka Race Car Build

Hello StanceWorks my name is Cameron I'm 20 and from Moses Lake, Washington but currently living in Seattle. I have a car we all know a little to well. You guessed it a BMW E30. My only saving grace is I've had it for awhile now. I bought the car in November 2011 and have been toying with it slowly but as of lately it has got a little more serious. It's a 1985 325e, I bought this piece of over engineered BMW garbage for a cool $800. Of course it needed to be brought home on a trailer in the snow lol. The previous owner had put in a rebuilt driveshaft but didn't align the knuckles on the driveshaft. Thus the car would basically hop at any speed above 20mph. Spent the next day in the drive way covered in snow taking the driveshaft out and putting it in correctly and poof I had a running car. Without further a due picture time.

There is basically no end goal with this car. I just want to maintain the BMWness and keep it handling well while looking good. I'm not building the car for anything besides expressing what I like into the car if that makes sense

Good job so far, another pre 88er. These things are really starting to grow on me. Good luck wit the build. Feel free to shoot any questions or concerns you have I would be happy to help if I can.

                  Here's a quick laugh
                  - I own an e30
                  - I used to run those TRM wheels on my car, same color
                  - At that same time I also had H&R + Bilstein shocks installed
                  - I also cracked my Oil pan very recently (just posted it up on my build thread if you wanna peep it - The link is below)
                  - Lastly, it seems that you work for BMW, I'm also an employee out here in New York, I'm a Technician. What about you? if you don't mind me asking

lol twins. Would that be Woodcliff Lake NJ by any chance? We go there for training also. I went to BMW STEP at that location.

Being a tech at 22yrs old has it perks, pros and cons like any other job. But I have to admit working on cars is a passion and I enjoy it very much. However, I hope to get out of the business in the future before I begin to develop a **** toward working on cars - like many techs who have been in the business way too long.

Yep it's Woodcliff is it cool there I've never been. Never been to east coast either. I love working on cars too but I've seen our customers and I'm not sure I want to fix cars in that environment you know?
