Thanks guys... I've had a bunch of stuff on order. Got the last bits of parts for the shortened beam today from AirKewld. Everything looks awesome and can't wait to get the parts on.

Since I ditched all the old crappy radio stuff, I wanted just a small speaker to use connected to an iPod. Finally got my mini Orange Amp. It actually fits right into the basket.

Painting the rear apron, got bored and played with the fenders. This is the goal...

Got some evening air tonight. Actually drove it to my dads to have a snapped stud drilled out for the header. Should be going on the hoist soon for the beam to be swapped.

Planned on having front tires mounted last weekend. I picked up 125r15 off Buick space savers. One place wouldn't mount them because they were 14 yrs old, the other place wouldn't because they were temp tires. After looking around I actually decided on a different size so Ill be ordering them this week.

Definitely love the color choice for the wheels, and the choice to use earlier body parts as well. How many inches is your Airkewld beam narrowed?

Can't wait to see where this leads and I really want to get one for myself eventually. I just got finished taking my dad's 67 out for a spin and they are just so cool.

This is going to continue to be a great build!

Bad shit going down this weekend...

                  Starting with pressure washing underneath

Last time seeing the old crap on there...

After not much time, whole front beam came out. This being my first Bug, was really surprised how easy it fell out.

Big empty hole left. Cleaned, painted and nuettered any rust to be found. My phone died so didn't get any pics of the painted parts. The new beam is getting popped in tomorrow.

Ordered the front tires since I was having bad luck with my Buick temps. Those will finally be on mid-next week.

Oh ya, I also seem to have a collection of deck lids. I was planning of running my 65-66 deck lid, but the spring bracket under neath was missing, so test fitted my pope nose lid. It's in way better shape. Just needs alittle paint.

How are the heater channels? I must have looked at 3-4 bugs, mostly 69 and earlier, before getting my Volvo wagon and all the heater channels were absolute crap.

Interior is amazing. Also, perfect wheels

Heater channels are actually very solid. Previous owner(neighbor) drove to South Dakota and bought it from a family member, then sat in his garage across the street for 11 years. Other then typical surface rust here and there. Battery floor is solid as well. There was body damage from a accident I found but it was all fixed and can't really tell. Hopefully be able to drop the rear today.

Rear end kind of done...still waiting on front tires to dial in ride height.

For being a IRS, I'm surprised how much camber it got from dropping it. I was told the IRS's wouldn't lean much. I actually prefer that slammed/squished look swing axles get from being lowered. So pretty happy how it turned out.
