Just found this thread, and the work here is awesome. Glad to see an old GMC getting some love.

I think that the headrest sets it apart from most custom classic trucks, it's something you don't really see on restomods. Plus, you won't crack your skull on your back window if you get rear ended.

Thanks, I got them for free so I can't complain. They are so much more comfortable than the bench seat and this will be a daily driver so thats important to me. But I actually was thinking of taking out the head rests which I think would make them look better.

Got the trans crossmember finished and installed, to my surprise it fit and all the holes lined up.

Lots of clearance for exhaust now

Test fit the seats which are out of a 2008 silverado. It was alot of work to make them fit properly.

Been gone for awhile but back at it now. Today I put some sound mat in the cab, I used a combination of some super cheap stuff from home depot and dynamat style stuff with adhesive on the one side for the firewall and back of the cab. I ran out thats why part of the floor isnt done.

Those are some great looking pictures and I'm real happy to see that engine sitting between the rails.

I've been all about Ford vehicles since I started driving, but I have to admit the old Chevys are gorgeous... Keep up the hard work, the truck is looking awesome. I'll be watching this thread!

No, we had a guy we know come paint it in our garage. I don't know a thing about painting or the equipment so can't help ya there. The paint looks great in real.
