Didn't need another car but price was low and the car was in rather good shape

phone pics, the first time I came to see it:












Bought it from the son of the first (dead) owner, price was 390 Euros because the gearbox was stuck in 5th gear and because the car had to leave, son of the owner had already sold the garage where the car was...

A few days later, had it out from the garage

inside like new even with 25 years






bad news is, when another car is pulling it, ther's a noise in the gearbox, even at a few km/h (even à 2 mph)

recently won an auction for a pair of us spec headlights



they already flew from california to florida by my cousin... and sh'll soon ship them to me in France

decided to try sell my VW Polo Harlekin


If someone would buy it I should by a cheap airide setup from Poland for the benz...

So, full of motivation i started to remove the gearbox
she's there, in the dark...

didn't finished to remove it that day, i was missing a tool...

dismanteld the gearbox and found what the problem was













something weird right there at the bottom...

Nice work. Most people don't have the balls to take their trans apart. Also interesting that you repaired the shift forks rather than just buy new ones. You've got guts!
