Thank you man,
Today I did some simple maintenance and learned something new about this car, although the miles are low, basically EVERYTHING except for the oil/filter radiator fluid, tires and air filter is original from 1985. Original suspension, brakes, timing belt, oil seals, clutch, axels, plugs, w.shield wipers, fuel filter, and whatever else - the previous owner didn't do much to maintain it, luckily it has such little miles (only 100k). Today I changed out the spark plugs, replaced my non working reverse light bulbs, changed the fuel filter, changed my wind shield wipers, and bled the brakes.
The spark plugs were majorly corroded
The brake fluid was completely contaminated
with the combination of the bad spark plugs and the fuel filter also being original, it made the car have an inconsistent acceleration causing the car to sputter when I stepped on the gas.
Now it's all better and the car feels like new again! The interior is still flawless, AC works, heat works, radio works, the motor is sound, no issues other than some oil leaks, good wheel bearings, brand new tires, brand new brake pads, no misfiring, accelerates consistently and brakes much better now. and now cosmetically this thing looks HOT! I love this front end haha
Looking sleek
Next I'm going to replace the timing belt, water pump, clutch, rear main/cam/crank/oil pump/valve cover seals, and then I need to fix my steering rack because it's leaking too.Last edited by Zwingfilms; 08-28-2013, 02:09 AM.

Man I have to say when I saw the mock up stage I had some serious doubts, but it looks a hell of a lot better than I thought it would, props for doing something that nobody would think of doing.
My ONLY critique is that I wish the crease in the body line could go all the way to the end of the front fender, I think it'd look a little better. That's just me though.

After the whole process ,the front end looks really great. I really like it. Before you paint it, do you think you would be able to finish the subarus bodyline down to the edge of the fender? Great work though! Still watching this thread

I agree with you on that crease, I think the fender could use it, it's looking a little flat and separated from the rest of the curved fender. I'll see if I can get that fixed - and thank you, I wouldn't have gone into it if I didn't think we could make it work. Because if it ended up looking like crap, then I would just get destroyed and it would have been totally pointless.
Honestly, I'm in love with it. I took the car and made it completely my own - forget status quo with what's cool and what's stupid. I took a really ugly car (everybody should agree) and made it easier on the eyes. I'm really happy with it, stoked to take it to a bunch of car meets to fool people! Mostly stoked for West Coast Subaru Show on Sept. 6-8th, a lot of people are obviously gonna give me crap for it but hey…Steve at PIA loves it soooo, that's saying a lot, he's one of the top 5 best Subaru mechanics in the PNW Subaru scene with one of the most popular shops.
