  • My poverty coupe of peace (not a civic)

Ok so this is my car. Its a 1998 CE lancer coupe. It wasnt my first choice infact i was looking at alot of other cars for MONTHS. i gave up and bought this.
It had like 280klm on the clock and was a bone stock pov pack with a 1.5Ltr motor.

Did some basic crap like stereo and left it for a while. then....

Tinted the indicators (not happy with them tho)

Bigger front brakes and brake master from a proton gti and some gay wheels to clear them. (have a evo 3 dual stage booster to go on at some point)

Then a maybe 2 months went by and the old 1.5 was drinking its oil so i bought another one. Then a mate twisted my arm and a 4g93 loom/ecu was bought along side a 4g94 motor.....

^that happened over the weekend. and that brings me to now..
Plans are rear disc swap and maybe 5stud swap using FTO hubs and brakes
Coil overs, most likely BC golds and a whiteline rear swaybar and anti lift kit along with new nolathane bushings for the front. FTO seats and Genuine wheels if i get fto gear cheap.

I am poor so this will progress slowly :/

Just take your time. Not having much funds for the car is not so rare. My build is coming along slow too but just be sure not to go the cheap route. You will regret it.

I see potential in this. A small coupe! This is something sweet. I will sub this because of curiosity what you will do with that.
By the way, make them brakes red!

Cool stuff, yo. This car has potential. Any reason you didn't choose a 4g63 turbo? Or is that not an easy swap?

Turbos are illegal on your Red and Green 'P' plates in Australia.
Hence no point in a turbo engine swap

            P = Provisional

Basically in some states if you're on your provisional licence you're restricted to driving certain cars and a few other stupid rules and you must display a P-Plate on the front and rear of your car.

Mainly because of cost and these stupid "P plate" laws here. plus i got this done for under $600 aus so cant complain. Sweet ED6 to man.

Will do man. Gotta head to an exhaust shop tomorrow to get my dodgy spacer removed and downpipe extended so its not on the sump.... and go to an aircon place to see about getting lines remade. also get the car up on the hoist to check over the motor mounts and starter motor.

Time for some updates on this bucket. Haven't been bothered to get the bases welded up yet.
                    installed FTO seat backs.

Went to Willobank and ran a 16.3 couldn't see my revs or hear the car. had wheel spin in 1st and second. Car has a mid 15 in it with a good launch and the restricter pulled from the extractors. Trying to also get some new rotors in and QFM pads ordered.

Should have a new job soon so i can order some coilovers and rear sway bar along with some new tires. probably gonna go with 595 rsr's. Ive also found a 4g93 sump. Swapping that out next weekend along with the intake mani. May be road tuning it soon aswell. Here have more pics.

Nothing wrong with going slow man. Take your time, save your money for good parts, and do it right.
