Hey guys, been lurking on these forums for a good few months just looking at builds and pitching in my 2 cents here and there (especially heists 2002 ) Anyways!
I finally got a hold of my first miata. I've wanted one for well over a year now and after some serious saving and working long hours, I picked up what I think is a nice NA6 Miata.

When I first got to the guys house here she sat:

And this is as soon as I got back home. (He lives .5 miles from my house, walked over to pick it up lmao)

And after I washed it: (trying to imitate the pics where theres a pitbull on a chain, with my 54 lb beagle.)

Has a full Flyin Miata Stage 2 suspension with VMaxx fixed dampening coils, front and rear sways, and NB tophats. Hard dog double diagonal rollbar. Axis OG Sans 15x8 et15

Plans I had when I got it home: install steel braided brake hard lines, new hawk pads and rotors and lower it another half inch or so(?)

The catch? Drove it to work the day I brought it home (tuesday) and took it home. Let it sit in the garage all day wednesday and drove my truck to work. Thursday rolls around, and I take her to work for a short 4 hour shift. On the way home going 45-50 on a bumpier road than I'm used to, a 150-175 lb doe ran into the passenger fender and DESTROYED IT. Bent a little bit of the body in (where the headlight lays down when they're down) warped the headlight frame, and dented my hood.

(the anti-freeze is from the reservoir, it cracked open)

And this is it after I got some work done pushing the bend back out.

Spent like 3 hours trying to line the headlight back up properly aannddd....

I'm just gonna buy a new one..

Anyways, after everything has settled for a couple days I've decided to go on a stance/pretty car build instead of low and good-handling. Thinking I'll go with a gunmetal gray body, teal bay, teal wheels and a nice offset on the wheels. Along with the other knick-knacks.
But as of now thats how the car sits... In the garage, no hood or fender, top down and on 4 jack stands...

Wow thanks for the feedback guys! I'll add a pic of after I washed it actually, one sec.

EDIT: added a picture of after it was washed on the original post.

Took it around the neighborhood one last time before I really started working on it, took a nice picture while I smoked on the park bench.

Got it home and it started pouring, and then the bottom fell out. Flash floods, etc. A friend about 5 miles away calls me: "Dude we have everyone over here in the 240's and it's flooding, the cars won't start and they're holding water inside." So I take off in the big ol 88 Chevy truck to go lug some 240's to high ground. This one had the least amount of water around it, hence why I got a picture:

Lugged all 6 240 hatches down the road about a mile and hung them in a parking lot to dry.

Let the rain settle and headed home myself. The next day, trying to procrastinate on jacking up the car again, I painted the strut bar teal lagoon:

turned out alot better than I thought it would

So I jacked her up on 4 stands

and got started on installing the new rotors, pads and hard-lines.

Didn't get "too" far today because of the retarded humidity and I just wanted to be lazy on my day off of work.

That's where I'm at for now though.

And was quoted $1100 to respray the whole car minus engine bay.. Consider it done once I gather all the body parts

Ordered the headlight frame and assembly last night, found a guy parting one on ebay and had him text me, got him to 65.00 for the whole thing... And I was gonna pay $40 for just the barn door panel

Should be able to get a hold of a fender and hood over the next 2 weeks, depending on my work. I was thinking about reusing the hood but after bolting it back on last night to see where I was, I noticed it was warped and didn't want to latch properly. Hopefully it was just the hood....

Anyways, I want to paint the car a dark gray color. Any specific shades anyone knows of? I'm thinking battleship/gunmetal gray but I want something unique.

Really thinking about some diamond racing steelies.. I don't know what size to go with for a nice flush fitment. I want 15x9 for more stretch, but 12 offset will sit in too much and 0 offset will poke too much.. 15x8 with 0 offset would be flush but I would have no stretch. I have brand new 195/50R15's so I'd like to be able to still use them.. lol. I want a nice flush look, not alot of poke or sunken. Any reccomendations?

Go 15x9 0 offset and make them fit, with a mild roll and pull you will be fine

I've seen 15x9 0 offset fit perfectly on miatas, but I've also seen them come out with some mexi-poke. I just want to test fit some to see. haha

Chris?! I had no idea you were on here. Do you have a build thread? And yeah it does blow, really hard. But thanks for the good luck wishes!

Got my new (used) headlight assembly today:

Right before I left for work is when it showed up, so day going by slow as possible, I anxiously awaited going home to put this on.

Get it on, lined up flush with the bumper lines, shut the hood and....

That's supposed to be so close it looks like part of the hood. I'm about half an inch off. Thats how far the body has crinkled in. Fuck my life. So I'm going to try to find a body work specialist and see how much they would charge to line this up.. I really want this car to be clean, and I was holding that up good until a damn deer ruined it.. Hopefully I can get it back to where it should be.....

Oh yeah, that red headlight panel is also fucking bent. It gets worse every time I look at it.

Anybody have any reccomendations on how to fix that body wrinkle? And also, on that headlight, when I pop them up, it goes up at the same speed of the other but drops about half an inch and stays there. It's hard to explain.

fortunately i've never had to do much for body work so i can't help ya there. good luck with the repairs, certainly sucks but it could have been far worse.
