PART 2 starts on page 2
First off, let me introduce myself.
My name is Toli, and along with my brother Tom, we are going to take you through the past few years of this cars life.
Back in 2009 Tom and myself discussed the idea of building a car like no other. I had been into drifting since before I got my licence, and had gone through several cars prior to this one. Tom had gone through a couple of hondas, his most treasured being a dc2 type R that he turbocharged and love. Unfortunately it was stolen and never recovered.
That integra convinced Tom that honda engines with forced induction were capable of not only decent power, but reliability. I had been through several nissan engines in a previous silvia, but Toms integra showed me the true potential of boosted honda powerplants, and from then on, I saw the light.
Together we came up with an idea. That idea was a drift car that I was comfortable in, powered by a honda motor. In mid '09 I bought the shell that would never be considered an true nissan again. Of course, as soon as people heard about what we wanted to do, there was a lot of negativity. People couldnt understand why we wanted to do this conversion. Lots of people would say that we could make power for much less money by building an sr20 or another nissan engine that would just bolt in. Not many understood why, but those who did gave us the motivation to get it done.
The only picture I have of it was after the original motor was out. Originally the shell started with a N/A CA18 auto.

And the day the motor came home. It is a aus delivered dc5 integra type R K20A.

There were many bad quality pictures of the parts we accumulated over time, I wont get into a great amount of detail, but if there are questions, I will try to answer them. Anyway, lets get some pics happening.
The suspention we opted for was tein super drift, with 10kg rates up front, and 8kg in the rear.

Then we started working out how to make a front wheel drive motor power a rear wheel drive car. We decided to go for an s2000 gear box, with a 180sx diff and a kaaz 2 way center. In order to mate the engine to the box, we requested the help of our friend Ian and his father Dave. They had previously done something similar when they built a clubman with a Honda K24 engine putting the power through an s2000 box.
We were excited to hear that it was all ready to go, and aranged to bring the car down to them so that they could make the engine mounts.

So then Ian and Dave sent us these pictures.

And due to the nature of this conversion the trans tunnel had to be modified, so at the time, this was the interior view

So then it came home.

And here are some better pictures of the engine mounts.

Another one of our good friend Mitch was responsible for making the wiring work. He is an auto electricial by trade, and as you may have guessed by now, this build has involved some close friends. Builds like this dont work without support from those closest to you.

Another close friend Rick stopped by with a jigsaw to modify the bonnet since the honda motor is much taller then the original nissan motor.

The s15 silvia 5 lug conversion and brake upgrade was completed and all after market suspension components to make everything adjustable. As all long term projects, at times things complie and can look extremely messy haha.

The first time it had been on the ground in months.
