I know 17's will, but my rear is already maxed out. Front only has an inch an a half more to lower once I fix cv boot. So even if I had 17, I'd have a nasty wheel gap. Even if I COULd go that low, my spring rate is too soft in the rear. With 6k I still have a bit of tire rubbing on the more drastic dips.
Pro tip- there is no one and only know-it-all that has say for fitment in the little Celica world.

"Maxing out" your coilovers on 18's will have the same effect as 17's- it's not like the overall diameter of your tire is changing (unless you haven't accounted for that...).

The 205/40R16's on my S2000 wheels tuck just as far as the 205/40R17's on my works do. Fitment isn't just about "tucking".

      Bernie has never said that.

You can get plenty low with 17s. I am tucking about half of my tire with 17s right now. Why don't you get some new springs before lowering it anymore so you can fix your rubbing issues?

Really? I've never tried I was just guessing. I figured with a smaller wheel diameter the wheel gap would be different.

I think you misunderstood haha. I wasn't saying you can't get low on 17's. I've seem awesome 17 drop. At the moment I wouldn't be able to pull it off well. Anyways, I'd rather have 18's I think.

                I must disagree with this.

IG: Static_GTS has this same body style Celica. Nice guy. Car looks really nice. They are temp wheels I believe, but they are Diamond Racing Steelies none the less. He pulls them off well. Edit: actually, his car is the silver one a few posts above. I dig it.

Although, this is just my opinion. Just like you shared yours.

Dude those steelies look fuckin sick? Why is everyone saying "god no"? But at the same time, look how low it is. Plus it also has camber links in the rear. So all in all, for me to swap to that look, I'm looking at a couple grand. But it's definitely a look I would ride the hell out of.

Would y'all judge me if I dipped my wheels pink? Around my town, "out of the ordinary" is what catches attention. If you see a slammed celica on pink wheels sitting next to a lambo, people will be talking about the celica. My town is filled with high end sports/super cars and are overplayed.

If that's the logic you want to use to decide future mods, your best bet is to paint some giant dinosaurs down each side of your car....preferably in bright neon colors. That should have everyone looking at you and talking about your car. For added effect, consider adding party hats to each dinosaur or using glow-in-the-dark paint.

Alternate method of modifying cars: Instead of simply trying to grab people's attention, why not seek to IMPRESS people instead. It's easy to grab someone's attention.....it's much more difficult and much more respectable to impress others with quality work, noteworthy style, or unique expressions. I'd much rather build a car that left people in awe than to build a car that caught people's attention simply because the wheels were an odd color.

It's your car though. It's a form of your own self expression. Do what speaks to your heart.

Catching attention isn't always good attention. There's a civic in my area with mismatched panels, no exhaust, a wing, fake race buckets, and duct tape. If it parked beside a Lamborghini I would talk about it as well.

My advise, keep it classy. Do what you like, not what grabs other peoples attention. If you want the pink wheels, go for it. But if your just doing it for attention go with the Dino's as well. Also you will never get as much attention as this celica

way to over react. shit. a simple "yes" would have sufficed.

But w/e. I do want my rims to be a crazy color. pink wasnt necessarily a real suggestion. it was more of a halfassed joke (although if dipyourcar had a pink in a can, id probably consider it haha. ufortunately youd have to mix colors to get it). My plan as I stated in the first post of the thread is to do a neon green. or blaze green from dipyourcar.

haha oh shit man classic celica. when you type "hellafail" into google, the first suggestion is hellafail celica hahah. the thing sounds like glass in a blender too. But I get your point. I dont think the pink would draw bad attention. Hell, it might attract some attention from the opposite sex

People will be talking about your Celica alright. They'll be laughing at it together. Just like all of us.
