  • Same Celica. New directions.

I'm going to start a new build thread from scratch. And instead of posting all the mistakes I made before, I'll just start with current progress.*

    Performance:
    TWM short shifter
    Spec stage 4 clutch

    Interior:
    Carbon fiber weighted shift knob
    Sony sound system
    LED floor lights

    Exterior:
    Spyder auto projector headlights

    Stance:
    Xxr 522 18x9.5 et 28/38 wrapped in Falken fk452 215/40/18
    Ksport kontrol coilovers*
    Pro tuning labs 50mm studs

For all of the tail tint ******, my tails have been restored to natural beauty. Hoping to red out soon.*

Unfortunately I haven't taken any pics with new spacers and moar low due to lack of time. I recently started working at a Nissan dealership and it eats most of my time. Hopefully this week I'll get the car washed decent enough for some good pics. Until then, here's my poor quality bad photography.*

On this one, the rims have tire lube, not rashes.*

And for those present in my previous build, I have fruitful plans for the future. I'm working with diamond racing on some custom steelies. Cheap, light, and look pretty sick.*
In the mean time, I want to plastidip the xxr's for a new color scheme. I was thinking a bright green?*

I'm patiently revamping this project with an open mind for a quality build. (ex. Instead of rushing into cheap 20$ spacers, I'll wait the extra two weeks for something of substantial value. )*

All grievances aside, let this thread go in the right direction.*

Its okay, the Celica has so much power that a 30+ lb wheel wont even make a difference.

I think this car has way too many drastic body lines and with the body style you won't be able to pull off steelies.

                But it's your car

really? I was just reading reviews and a lot of people use the diamond steelies for racing because of how "light/strong" they are. or so they said.

you dont think it will work? Ive never seen a celica on steelies. I was thinking once I got the fenders pulled it would look good. but anyways. for a celica, what would you suggest? pics would be great.

Maybe you should just refinish the xxr's, I think they fit well

lol who needs "power" in a celica? Considering Im a soft driver and never race it, the only loss I can see would be gas mileage. And I can afford to lose a mile per gallon. After all, I believe my xxr's weigh 22lbs. IF the steelies actually weigh 30lb, an extra 36 lbs wont affect much. My subs weigh more than that and taking them in/out doesnt seem to affect mileage too much. Plus my ride height allows me to deny more than one passenger damn children always asking for rides and shit.

I dont think my dad would be too happy about refinishing them. Hes still a tad controlling. However, I discovered a little trick. After a solid couple coats of plasti dip, use a filler of the same color to fill in rashes. You can even sand it after that. Then just put a few more light layers over. And when you peel it off, the paint all comes with!

I know lots of people have thrown around "real" wheels. What wheels would you suggest for a white celica? I absolutely love bbs wire style rims. But they do not fit the celica at all.

I'm not even sure how to answer that.
Anything but replica wheels\steelies will garner respect.
