Run more tyre, go lower.

Ehh. That's not a good idea where I live. Theres lots of potholes and dips. Plus, 6k spring rate on the back is no where close to being able to handle that low.

Yeah Celicas are a tough one to get perfect. I want another set of 18x9.5 so I can keep my tires. It will make life so much cheaper.

A 7th gen Celica has a 54.1 hub diameter. So fitting rims is not a problem aside from needing hub rings.

i'm glad to see this thread getting a second shot, really like your overall idea of what you want for your celica and not trying to discriminate but I don't think diamonds would look to well on it, just my 2 cents on it. but everything else sounds great

Oh yeah. I wasn't saying that it was. I don't even have rings on my car and it is almost 20mm different and I haven't had any problems in the year they have been on. I was just letting the guy who said that he may have to bore out rims to fit them that it isn't an issue with this gen Celica.

since wheel talk keeps popping up... i would assume you have a 5x100 PCD (unless 1999-2006 has multiple PCDs, if im wrong blame the info on the internet), going 18s on a small car like that i wouldn't do it, but its your car, do as you please. there are plenty Brand name wheels that are priced "ok" and the price wont put you on a cup of noodles diet.

Enkei - RPF/kojin/Raijin are common and fairly priced. If you like BBS style then get LM or Mesh reps, just don't put a BBS cap on Mesh/LM reps. I would even scoop down to some TSW if it came to it, you can even get some Volk/Ray wheels used at a "decent" price or used Advan wheels.

its not that reps are a bad thing, its just that you can clearly tell when its cheap wheels (by the look and performance), reps and cheap wheels aren't always the same. my friend once said "My ex-girlfriend's tits are reps. Doesn't mean I didn't like them." and there are also 3 piece reps/homage wheels out there so go figure.

You can "slam" a car on any size wheel. Don't let the stigma of what other people have done effect what you want to do.

That's what Bernie told me. Considering he's the "wheel and tire" genius, I figured could trust his feedback.

I know 17's will, but my rear is already maxed out. Front only has an inch an a half more to lower once I fix cv boot. So even if I had 17, I'd have a nasty wheel gap. Even if I COULd go that low, my spring rate is too soft in the rear. With 6k I still have a bit of tire rubbing on the more drastic dips.
