I _does_ work on a sedan, doesn't it? It will be really interesting to see how if influences your lap times. Couple of questions: what kind of cooling issues were you facing--just normal shakedown issues, or something else? Can you tell us more about the off on 9? Any learning points? ...off to watch Le Mans now...

I'd expect at least a second drop in lap times at any of the higher speed tracks. I could see in my data at Willow Springs (very high speed track) that I was losing time in some of the long high speed corners. Mainly turn 2 which is a very long right hander with a mean speed of 85-90 and turn 8 that I was entering around 120 and had to feather the throttle and scrub speed vs being flat out. I went off of turn 9 because my brake pedal went to the floor at 117mph in a sketchy decreasing radius corner that has killed many in SoCal. Needless to say it wasn't the highlight of my day haha. Fortunately there was no damage.

you should def mount the gurney flap! love the look of those. especially on this car because of the red/black textured/red breakup it has goin on

I noticed you still have the back seats in. Have you thought about taking them out? And also fully stripping the rear out including all the sound deadening?

Less weight is always good.

Love the exhaust set up will be looking into something similar myself for my 323.

I have a full interior due to rules. If you look at my 911 build you'll see how fanatical I am about weight, but this is my DD, and I'm trying to stay as close to the rules as possible. I'll be working on weight reduction soon though.

So good. Love all the work you have done so far. I dig the Wing, and agree entirely with it looking better on Sedans.

Like I said about your 911, I love that you actually race your cars as opposed to just driving around slowly with a bunch of power add-ons. I respect that so much. Keep up the great work too!

Do you have any idea how much weight you saved with the exhaust set up you have now over the oem piece?

Since that WSIR event I managed to win Round 5 of Redline Time Attack at Buttonwillow. I managed to beat the class record in qualifying/practice, but the weather was terrible and couldn't do it in competition. It's a good sign, because the car should be about a second faster in ideal conditions.




I took a bit of a break towards the end of July since I spent the three months prior working on this car most days of the week. There are a few more things that are going to be worked on to get the car ready for the rest of the Redline Time Attack season and Super Lap Battle.



Yesterday I picked up a Mirai battery from Yimi Sport. This is going to be a big source of weight savings since it weighs in at only 2.75lbs vs the 40-50lbs of the factory battery.

This weekend I installed the Mirai battery, pulled a few more things for some added weight reduction, and corner balanced the car finally. While I was at it I made a couple of aero modifications to clean up the front end.

The paint is pretty nice, but it has a lot of imperfections. The camera and lighting make it look much nicer than it is.

My Motorsport Hardware Stud conversion kit came in yesterday. I'm stoked since I no longer have to deal with the hassle of wheel bolts at the track. The quality is excellent and they're TUV approved.
