Wheels seem like an odd choice for that car. I'm hoping your kidding and bought some retro set instead.

They were dirt cheap... Not my first choice but... This is a LOW buck experiment.

Haha so far the wheels and tires cost more than the car... :/

    started a topic 86' 528e The Experiment

    86' 528e The Experiment

I've "built" alot of rides but this is my first of this kind. VERY low buck and just new to everything as it's European and generally over engineered. I mean that in a good way. The plan is to go kind of a hot rod theme. It will be matte black (some call it Hot Rod black) as low as possible and go from there. Basic... Simple...

Here is what I'm starting with.

So far I have removed the front bumper and side trim. Removed the rear bumper and sectioned it 3" so it is almost flush with the body. As well as removing that ugly side trim. Thinking of removing the rest of the trim as well. We'll see...

    Here is the bad side...

Last night I lowered the front by cutting two coils. turns out you can cut coils with the struts still on the car. The first one went great took about 20-30 minutes. That second one... Well... Not so much... Two hours of swearing and thrown tools later I finally got it done... Yeah I know... I should have just taken the damn thing off. :/
No pics yet of said lowering...

But here are the wheels I ordered.

The next day I found gold centered ones but oh well...

    More to come...
