Retrograde: 2005 BMW Z4 - AirRex Content.

Is the airrex a full z4 kit or you had some fab work to do?
How did you run your lines, and what does your trunk look like?

It is the full AirRex kit with Airlift management. I'm running a 3 gallon stubby tank in the trunk and it's nothing "show" just the tank showing and an air tool line running off of it, which has come in handy a lot so far lol. Lines were run in through an existing opening in the trunk.

bit of a random question but i am considering geting into the market for another car, how do you find this car performance wise? obviously thats all relative but seeing as you have an interesting pedigree in cars i thought it may be worth an ask!

Thanks, yeah I wasn't planning on running the reps but like I said a friend hooked it up and they looked pretty damn good haha.

As for the car, the handeling and nimbleness of it is great but the 2.5 is a bit underpowered. Especially after owning the 225Q TT and the M3 of course. I've had a 3.0 z4 for a short time (took over my a family members lease for two months) and minus it being an automatic that was a fun car to drive. The power difference can def be felt. This is why if I keep the 2.5i I'll most likely supercharge it down the road

But it makes a great cruiser/commuter car. I commute 60 miles a day and get near 28-30mpg on 19's.

Finally some updates. Came home to this:



New front lip, should look good. Just kind slid it under the car to get an idea. Won't go on until it's painted though. I originally was gonna order new rear bags but I decided to get some things painted in the coming weeks so I ordered the lip so I could throw that in the mix.





Also tires should've been here today so hopefully they show up tomorrow. The size I needed for the fronts were on backorder so I've been playing the waiting game.

So getting tires has been the biggest headache. Apparently finding a matching staggered set of 215/35/19 & 235/35/19 is damn near impossible unless I wanna pay $200+ a tire. After being told tires were in stock when they weren't, tires were expired or on backorder for weeks, etc I got hold of some Falken FK453's today!

Did a test fit over the weekend with some 225/35/19's. Wasn't able to air down all the way but with the 215's I should be perfect.



Then in my never ending quest to restore this car to it's prime. I dropped it off at the paint shop this morning for a respray on the front bumper and horrible oxidized trunk. They're also gonna be spraying the front lip.



The car should be looking good by Bimmerfest this weekend!
