YES! never really liked the trim tbh. what are the plans for wheels? are they originally black becuase the black really bother me i dont really have any suggestions outside of black but ill let you know .
Ripped this off pulling into driveway last night so Im going to start pulling all the trim of and drop off to paint. Not going to paint the bumpers yet but I figured since the trim removed itself might as well finish the job. Going to start looking for 07 oem front and rear bumpers. Putting wheels on hold and getting body taken care of.
Nice! Will def look into them. Thanks for the suggestion. Those would look pretty mint
[QUOTE=BEEMDUB;1383848]Hey man glad you finally posted again and super pumped on your X3!!!! I texted you awhile back about my X3 and installing the kws. gotta say though I'm super unimpressed with the kws, only had them on for a month before they started leaking and didn't go low enough, came to the idea the e46 coils would work too and give more lows but kinda sucks now that i dropped double the price on the kws. Im assuming you went with BC? Anyways looks so good now that you're tucking wheel! You continue to inspire my build here!! QUOTE]
Thanks man, I appreciate that and it means a lot that I inspire your build. Your X3 is looking great!! Keep it up!! Yeah, the KWs do not go low at all even after some ghetto fabs I was still unable to get it low. No, these arent BCs they are just a cheap set just to see if they would work. They ride super smooth thanks to the shorter E46 struts. Only suggestion I would make would be a stiffer spring rate for the rear as to the it bottoming out on sweeping dips every now and then but other than that I couldnt be happier. When these blow I will end up getting a higher quality setup now that I can go in with the confidence that it will work These were onle 300.00 on ebay and I have no shame in that lol. I rather waste 300 if they didnt work oppose to wasting 800-900. Hard to resale things these days By the way they are nowhere near maxxed out. Hopefully this weekend skid plate will be mounted and be burried in the pavement.

Honestly I wanted to run the 20s but now that Im a lot lower and have more room to go down and I love how low it sits on the stock 17s im thinking about just running 17x10 fronts and 17x11 or 12 rears with stock tire size for alittle stretch.
this thing is rad! i was just thinking not to long ago i wanted to see one of these slammed. Im so glad that you said you like the 17s, I like them a lot better than the 20s tbh. sorry to hear about all the air ride shenanigans but good thing you bounced back and didnt get discouraged. air ride still in the future for this? I think leaving it static would be gnarly though! keep it up man!
Hey thanks man I appreciate that and to be honest with you I was only considering the 20s due to the KWs not being able to go low enough to tuck. They were maxxed to the extreme and still had a just enough wheel gap to drive me crazy. Another reason bags were considered because the lack of lows, but after a lot of thought and hanging onto the idea E46 suspension would work on this I took the leap of faith and I got it to work and I couldnt be happer. Once I get the skid plate made I will be bringing it down a lot more. Im extremely happy with the ride quality and the lows that are happening. Shes going to remain static for a while, so no bags in the future as long as this continues to work.

Woah I havent been in this thread for a LOONG time.
What wheels are you going to be running next?

Thanks man, and yes I have but Im wanting to find oem painted ones from a newre model like the ones pictured above. Im sketch about having them repainted at a shop because of all the failed attempts before where the paint begins to flake off.
Sorry for toaster pic but just a idea of the lows that have been had by running the new setup. This is no where near maxed out. Ill try to post better pictures later.
This was taken before I did more adjusting and went lower to the pic above
