At some point in my life, I'm going to regret making a build thread for this thing.

Hi everybody! Sorry I has no updated in a while, been too busy driving it and having SO MUCH FUCKING FUN.

I've got about 2000KM on it since the swap, nearly problem free. Still have multiple "small things" to take care of but life has gotten in the way the last few days. Driving home tonight I thought I heard a sort of plastic type scraping sound? Decided I was crazy, heard it again about a half-hour later. Backed in my driveway and looked underneath, dragged my charcoal canister home, about 45 minutes worth of driving. Oops?

I'll finally get some time to toss the truck up on the hoist tomorrow, going to do some fluid changes, bolt checks and get this damned charcoal canister back in it's home (providing it isn't entirely destroyed).

Have some pictures for now, nothing really to look at, I suppose.

Going to try another video (we'll see if this one works properly?)

To run A/C again (all that's currently missing is my condenser) I need to notch the hood latch bracket. I've been thinking about just ditching the whole bracket and running hood pins. I think it would really suit the whole theme of the truck and it would save me a piss-pile of work.

    Thoughts?

    EDIT: Nope, still video-posting-fucking-retarded. SIGH.

          So, I bought hood pins.

At this point, I **** them. They're way too shiny for the truck. I do have plans to fix it, I'm going to make new scuff plates out of sheet metal and then rust them, and going to blast the pins and hopefully (providing they're not stainless) rust them aswell. I think I will also ditch the cables.

I finally found a set of fender flares specific to an S10 today in a price range that I wanted to pay and picked them up today. There will be a lot of cutting and modifying to making them actually "functional" but I can't wait. The bottoms of them square off, which I really don't like, so I need to figure out how to change that, otherwise it will be pretty straight forward.

I finally got pulled over Friday for having no exhaust, and got a "72 hour fix-it ticket". So, tonight, I'll be going out and finally putting mufflers on the truck (sad face) and then stopping by the police station tomorrow to be dealt with. If nothing else, I've been putting it off for way too long.

Hey man I love your truck. Check mine out, it isnt too shabby. I vote for spintech mufflers but it takes a while to get them in. how about some clamped on cherry bombs for a temp solution. I love the spintech sportsmans and am installing them on my sbc bagged C10.

              Thanks, man.

I already had Cherry Bombs for the truck ever since I had swapped in the motor, I just had never put them on.

They're on now, and the truck is disgustingly quiet. I do not enjoy it at all. My neighbour has a full-size with the same motor and his truck sounds genuinely awesome, so I'm going to inquire as to what mufflers he's running.

I blew out my second set of collector gaskets last night. Not super impressed because they fucking suck to change. Oh well. A couple friends have steered me in the direction of a different brand that are thicker and get compressed more, so I'll be trying them out this time.

The input shaft bearing on my tranny is also now howling it's god-forsaken life away. These trannies really can't hold a v8 very well. I've found a spare tranny on the cheap, so I'm going to pick that up relatively soon and swap it in, and have mine rebuilt for a back-up. I'm really sick of being without my truck so having back-up parts is now a must.

I really want to spend a tonne of money and time on this thing fixing up stuff like the body, etc. But having deadlines for the car really puts a damper on that. I guess I'll get the chance to get around to it sooner or later.

                    Thanks, men!

Drove the truck to Michigan for the weekend to hang out with some friends, and in true form to the truck's nature, it broke. Somehow the rad drain snapped clean off, there is nothing even remotely close to touching the drain, I have no idea how it broke.

Either way, we ordered up a rad Sunday and it showed up Monday morning with a $130 price tag. Not bad. Had it swapped out in a half hour and we were good to roll home.

Fixed and ready to go home:

So, picked up an 0411 PCM today to do my PCM swap which will finally allow me to tune my new engine via HPtuners. I cannot wait. There is a very noticeable 4 second power enrichment delay currently in my truck and it needs to go. I will also be able to pass emissions testing again with this PCM. She's all coming together.

Fuel cell, 4 link, coilovers, Hurst shifter and exhaust cut-outs to come.

PCM has been successfully swapped, the truck has been tuned a little bit and it has woken up A LOT. I can honestly say I'd never thought that I would ever be tuning this truck with a laptop. The electric fans are now controlled via the PCM, which is awesome.

I'll be removing the ABS module tonight and replacing it with a first gen s10 prop valve, plumbing in line-lock aswell.

I've also started researching fuel pumps, time to get a cell in this thing and prep for a 4-link and coilovers. The time is near!

Some recent shots from an event Saturday,

I'm ALMOST satisfied with this thing for the year. Pretty good feeling for once. Hahaha.
