wow that's class... I'm pretty sure some guys have cut coils on w108's on this forum but I have no idea on how its done.

That car is beautiful! If it were my car, I would not cheap out by cutting the springs. I doubt anyone makes coilovers for this, but instead of cutting the springs you should buy some shorter springs.
But if you really do want to cut them, take them to a suspension shop in the ghetto(east LA). They'll hook you up there.

Thinking about lowering my W108 Mercedes
I'm thinking about lowering my W108
I'm pretty sure i will cut the springs and buy a spare set in case i don't like the ride.
I'm not a hardcore 'stancer', I only use the car on rainy days which are very few in SoCal.
I know these cars have extra long travel and there's lots of spring to be cut before the handling is affected.
If this is a task for a diy-er, how complicated is it ? I've cut springs on other cars a long time ago and i'm only unsure if i need a spring compressing tool and if i need a special one for the W108
If it's easier to have it done at a shop, Can anyone recommend a place in SoCal ?
Are there any 'stance' members that would be willing to do it ?
Anyone that has done it before on a W108, can you recommend how much lower should i make it, how much of the spring did you cut and can you post images ?
Thanks
(not really a build thread yet)
Here's mine
