  • Project Squareback #FatherSon build

howsit guys haven’t posted in long time
So we got a 1967(estimated) VW type 3 squareback last year feb.
we recently started working on it about 2weeks ago to get it finished for vdub campfest on the 2nd & 3rd of Feb.

The car is in good riding condition but their is holes in the floor and there was a lot of rust ,bodyfiller and undried paint on the pannels. their was about 6mm body filler on the one rear fender. So that fender isnt worth saving and we bought a new one.

So far most of the holes have been filled/closed up either with brazing or cut out and fllled with a metal plate.

The panels have been prepped and were sprayed today and must just be fetched.

Assembly should be happening this weekend and only a few small things must still be bought

we are going for a 'rat'/ Patina look for the car,so its going to be flatted down and some places will be sanded throught the oaint to the primer and then it will be polished
We lowered the car the weekend so will load up some pics tomorrow or later on
how the car looked when we just got her, paint looks decent in the pick but it wasnt that great.

the new rear fender we bought, denst were being removed and was being prepped for paint

    Car all stripped

the panel that we saved,a piece was cut out and a new plate was welded in,holes were also brazed. the panel beater was very good and did a good job

let me know what you guys think
