  • Just me and the lady.

Since this is my first thread on the forum i'll introduce myself as well.
My name is Henrik, I live in Östersund, Sweden. I've been on the forum for quite some time now, altough i'm not one for being the center of attention.
That's why i've hesitated so many times to create a build thread.

I've had a couple of cars in the past, like we all do. For example, the mandatory "rat-look" car etc. The thing is, sometimes you just get this feeling. A lot of you already know what i'm talking about.
Something you just have to do, and there is nothing that can stop you from achieveing your goal.

This my friends, is one of those moments.

    This, is the lady:

Her name is Moa and i've had her for about three years now.
Nowdays it feels like every 1/5 owns an E28, dont get me wrong though, I think that's wonderful.
I've always fallen face down for these cars. The curves, beautiful interior and the power of the M30 engine. This is history on wheels, handbuilt history. Especially since the M5 E28 really changed the car scene with this superfast sedan.

Frankly, I wish everyone could drive one of these cars. I've never felt the same way in any other car before, when you always drive with the biggest smile on your face.
When I was younger and saw an E28 driver. I always assumed he was a dick by that stupid grin he gave me, but now I know why, he was having the time of his life!

I could rabble on for days about this as you probably already figured out.

Back to some pictures. I dont know in wich order I did these things so i'll just toss them out there.

    Found some 17" RS's 302.

Did also hunt down a vintage add on for euro E28's: Tape holder!

    Removal of missplaced M-Badge.

    General service.

    Got some XYZ-Race coilovers.

Quite tacky fitment, at least in the front. Had some trouble with the wheel grinding against the spring, so I could'nt go lower at the time.

I really wanted to go wide with the wheels.
I've seen people pull of 17x10, but I had to try to wider.
I did some research and saw that Rusty made 11"!
I am really a guy who thinks before I act, but this was one of those "Fuck it, i'll do it live" moments.
So I built them with 4" stepped lips all around creating 17x10" ET2 Front and 17X11,5" ET-10.8 Rear.

I've only tried to get some sort of fitment so far. This is the result.

There will be some difference when tires get mounted of course. We'll se where this ends.

After that I've just driven her, taking it slow. Doing the daily thing.

Then we end up today. The plan is simple, to make me satisfied with her, wich is easy since I already am. Subtle mods, complete restoration and a kompressor.

Cars take time, but I am working as fast as I can.

    This is the car today:

Did the stock hight thing to be able to transport her a bit easier since its snowy outside and such. The battery was dead when I tried to move her though, hence all this writing.

First up is a restoration of the rear axle.

I think she has enough power to snart, bye for now.

Wasn't too interested at first, but then you test-fitted the RS's and now I can't wait to see them on properly. Job well done.

It's been a while since I looked into sizes for the wheels, but 210/40 or 215/40 should be about the max stretch you can pull out from 10" So if i've done my math correctly it should be 230/30 or 240/30 rear. Are those even real tyre sizes?
