I got my fuel cell today. Tomorrow I'll be picking up a fuel pump and then the search for fittings will begin.

The cell is a good fit for the trunk floor, I'll just have to move the battery off the to one side and put it in a box. Looks like a pretty simple thing to install. I just need to cut a hole for the sump to go through the floor and then the 4 mounting holes.

Much love for these old volvos! My first car was a piss-yellow 244 DL.

I modified some fittings to make adapt the tremendous -12 AN outlet and -10 AN return on the fuel cell to a more reasonable size barb fitting. I just need to make 1 custom fitting to eliminate the fuel pump's check valve and then I should have a functional fuel system. I also relocated the battery off to one side, hopefully I can make a little box and hold down for it soon.

My adjustable thermostat fan relay arrived yesterday so today I hooked up the fan and mounted the relay.

I also brought the headers to work so I could cut the flanges off and have v bands welded on instead. This should give me a little more clearance and make the rest of the exhaust a little easier to build.

After some debate is decided to nix the original plan of using a volvo pump in favor of a better pump that is more universal. I picked up this Walbro 255 pump with fittings from my local speed shop. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be enjoying the sound of a v8 running with open headers.

Well I got a Walbro 255 hooked up in the car but now it doesn't want to spark any more. I did some troubleshooting and it looks like the hall sensor in the dizzy is the culprit. I'm hoping to swap that out tomorrow.

It seems that I will never really learn my lesson. After all that troubleshooting, it turns out to be a bad eec relay that was holding me up. Today I figured that out and with that and a new fuel pump relay, the car finally starts and runs without any hotwiring.

Next on the agenda is to get all the coolant plumbing in and tightened down. I suppose it is also nearing that time where I should order some parts for the exhaust, which I am still on the fence about. The options are 2.5in to 3in y pipe with a muffler in the back, or just an x pipe with cherry bombs and a side exit on each side.

This seems to be coming along very quickly.
I can't wait to see this thing shredding tires.
Oh, and go for the x pipe and cherry bombs.
Keep up the good work man!

Now I'm interested in Volvos. I had no idea people swapped old 5.0s in. Awesome build!

Thanks, today I got the Ford Racing shorty headers on there and played with coolant hoses until it was too cold out to work with bare hands.

I may want to do fair bit of driving in this car, which makes me lean towards the single 3" with a proper muffler. It would also come in handy if I slap a turbo on this thing

This week is going very well, I spent a couple days in Mastercam training and now I'm getting trained on a cnc milling center. Hopefully this will mean good things for my projects. I normally work night shift so working on the car after work instead of before takes some adjustment. Not a bad thing though, I seem to be making good progress.

Today I got my shorty headers bolted up. They only needed a little bit of 'convincing' to clear the steering shaft.

The interior in this thing is still in shambles from the flood, until today I didn't really do anything.

I decided to test fit some seats I've had laying around for a couple years.

And here is what my fueling system looks like now...
