        • thats the point... None of this is safe...and one must be an idiot to think otherwise...... Im just waiting for him to tell us How safe it is again because the coil overs he used magically reduced his cars weigh and the tension to the control arm... im dyin to see the formula for that from this Novus engineer here

If it is anything like California, they only check emissions equipment and that its not leaking fuel as far as a visual inspection goes.

If you pay the right price you can pass with any mods you want to.

Yes, it is road driven. All they inspect is my emissions equipment.

And in all honesty, in a fight with a curb, I'd trust this cut stock one:

                  Over this aftermarket tubular one:

I am going to make some nice tubular ones in the future, but until then, these get the job done.

                    • I don't think i would do that even on my first car when I was 16... that just looks like a bad idea... it lost all structural support to the design when you did that.

Reminds me of that idiot with the mk1 spacing out his spindles wth bolts:

                        • wouldnt it be a better idea to not fight kerbs that cut control arms? If your gonna knotch them id think youd reinforce them? because the factory designed something with that amount of metal for a reason. a cnotch sortofthing would still allow you to achieve the lock ect but still keep structural integrity of the component right? i know you want them sacrifical and all to save the rest of the suspension but if you are intending to make/buy tubular ones in the future wouldnt they be stronger than factory parts therefore making your sacrifical part of the arguement invalid?
                          avoid kerbs? drift on tracks?

this car has so much potential to be so cool

Look man. I don't care what you do with your car, I wasn't going to even post anything negative. But don't try to justify you're self, you're wrong without doubt. You look dumber trying to argue facts with stupidity.

Why would you not trust the tubular ones.... Because they look thinner? That's dumb, they are engineered to withstand road forces. Unlike the ones you ruined the structural integrity on by cutting a key part of the arm.

Just say you're wrong, you fucked up, and or you don't have the funds to do it right. But don't think we are stupid and ignorant or ****** because you are. Then move on man!!!
                            I still like this thread.

                            • Simple easy way to tell if something is dumb or bad: you have to justify it.

That being said I'm done my mini rant.

I liked where this was headed, I'd love to see it sitting on some different wheels tho. Meisters would look unbelievably sexy on this thing. Any other plans for the car? Also I'm sub'd, I'd like to see where this goes

                              • Hey, another 89 GT Vert owner here, and probably my first post on the forums... I'm actually interested in where you're going with this, control arms and all. I know how it is to not be able to make the move to the parts you really want, i'm sure we all do, despite a lot of the complaints

I have some simple plans for my GT, I want to have a bit of mix between a streetfighter build and something super slammed as you see all around here. A good mix of modest perfomance with a very capable, but low suspension setup. With our cars, I know the front needs a bit more attention than the back and there are a ton of options i'm sifting through.

Anyway, be safe as with this as possible man!
