    Although someday, I'll probably buy a pinto, put the small '71 bumpers on it, put the drivetrain from this in it, and slam it on it's nuts with some nice stretch. It's kind of a dream goal of mine haha.

      Uh huh. Your Fire Marshal will tell you off once they have put down the flames.



      Almost all my previous cars have had similar hackjob wirings with duct tape and binders. Fucking **** fixing those. I have actually had 2 of my cars lit on fire while driving b/c of those.

        Also, in putting the '71 bumpers on it, i'll also install a fuel cell waaaaay away from the rear bumper. I wouldn't want to cook myself on my first ride in it. My dad's got a lemon yellow 75 pinto, and i'm telling you this car is the balls man. It handles like crap, it's slow as hell, but there's just so much charisma in that car. Everywhere you go, people honk at you, wave at you, yell out the window that they used to have one. It's ridiculous. But with a 302 it'd be fast as hell, considering it'd weigh about 2200 lbs with the v8.

          Yeah thankfully haven't really had any short issues so far. Most of the issues were just essential wires that were cut and hidden in the wiring harness

          Some people's ability to fix cars terrifies me.

            Success! I should be registering the mustang today, hopefully. If not then tomorrow. But this means I can fix the rest of my wiring harness, do my right front strut, my intake gasket, install my battery cutoff and possibly relocate it to the trunk, find the source of the hard clunk in the rear end which I suspect is a u-joint or control arm bushing, install the springs (and cut them a little until I can afford the steeda bumpsteer kit, then cut them a lot, and 2" drop spindles) all within the next couple of weeks. Then I should be sitting pretty nice for now.

              Tough it out. I swapped my entire drivetrain/fuel system in a storage space on the other side of town over winter.

              You could also look into a Watts link for the rear suspension, or dare I say an IRS.

                I've looked into watts links before, I'd definitely like to give it a shot, and Actually I might be in luck. My dad's friend rents the bay next to this shop for his scrapping business, and he's got a ton of good wiring harnesses that I could pull the correct color wires out of.

                  So I think, after some long pondering that a fox body isn't necessarily what I want to start with as a platform for slammage. I love the car, don't get me wrong, but everybody has done it, and I have an attainable life goal within my grasp. I'm looking at a couple pinto wagons this thursday, if I manage to snag one I'm gonna swap the mustang's drivetrain into it, and slam that bitch. If I can find a hatchback I'd prefer to go that route, but a wagon would be equally as cool. Some 2200lb v8 action would be fun


                  Plus, I've always wanted to go out in a blaze of fiery glory, no better way to ensure that than getting rear-ended in a pinto

                    Here's my dad's 75 pinto, the car responsible for making me fall in love with pintos years ago. Bought it for 650$ in the condition you see here!
