It happened. I actually "finished" the damn thing! There's still a handful of things I want to do to it (brake/clutch levers, different bracket for the headlight to lower it/bring it in a bit, mirrors, etc.) but nothing that is stopping me from riding it.
Speaking of riding it, it rides great! You can really feel how light and tossable this bike is (it's under 400 pounds wet).
I am an awful photographer, so here are some shitty pics until I can get someone who knows what they're doing to take some.

I guess it's a bit misleading to say it's the "same" bike since the only things leftover from what I started with are the fuel tank, engine, and about 2/3 of the frame.

A pic from the Backfire gathering in Ballard last night (it's a local custom bike gathering that happens monthly during the summer here, about 400 bikes showed up last night). The bike got a surprisingly warm reception, there was a crowd around it pretty much all night.
