Airkewld stuff is good. And their site has some excellent tech writeups on building the rear suspension. TheSamba also has some good articles, if you can manage to navigate their search function.

I like that you're not getting too discouraged. Type 3's can be a pain in the ass (and the larger VW scene tends not to be very helpful,) but there is some good info out there if you look hard enough. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this beast!

I'm building a 73 Fastback for my friend, and Chop top Mk2, your build on the Type 3&4 forums has served as inspiration, particularly your tubs! We're only gonna be tucking 17's all the way around though.

Yeah wasnt going to throw him out there but he got me. Hopefully straightening everything out with my bank tomorrow.
Ill definitely look on airkewld for the rear air setup. Not sure what kind of wheel im going to run, but i'm planning on something a little wider.

Any suggestions for the rear is cool.

Any aircooled or specifically type3 people know anything about my problem with my axle bearing.

Its completely flush with the lip it sits against but doesnt go into the housing enough to put the cap over it and seal it up.

Bearing is supposed to be half in this axle shaft cover and half in the cap.
As you can see there is no gap where its supposed to be pressed up against. Any help is great!

Trying to get the daily running. Throwing a code for o2 sensor, and isnt starting. Will that actually make it not start?? It cranks but wont start.

Waiting on air beam for the front of the notchback still, guy is making me nervous its been 3 months. And he is being difficult to contact and very little communication last month.
Something is holding the axle bearings from sliding on the whole way. A nick or bur, so I have to sand the axle shaft tomorrow after work.

Got the driveshaft out in an hour and off to the shop.

Sadly the guy who pressed the axle bearings on did it wrong. So now I have to take it back apart for the millionth time and do it myself tomorrow.

Finally sorted out the transmission/axles and brake parts are here again.
Should be putting things back together here this week. The body is in the shop still, maybe get that back this week. fingers crossed.

Sadly I have a daily, that has turned into a lemon in the first month of ownership. Im financially wrapped in that at the time being, so the notchback is slowing down.

Axles pressed and brake parts showed up, have to send front back because I have to run disc with the beam I order.
Ordered a dual bag type1 conversion beam from punchdrunkcustoms.com Matt is patient and good guy to work with.

Should be getting the axles finally in the transmission and mount that up this week.
