Everyone needs to take a break here for a bit.
Belvader feels that his truck has made some progress and he wants to share it with us. Sometimes he has no where to go for inspiration but here, so he asks us what should change.
When I was in freshman year, I was dreaming about a championship white B16b powered EK9, and torn down my first engine(b18a from a DA) in that class. I was dreaming honda, but I couldn't afford it, and wasn't allowed to have a car. Belvader is in freshman year, and he has his truck, like I wanted my honda, but he actually owns it, it's his. Some kids get brand new BMW's or Mercedes, but that doesn't matter, he has a truck he likes and he is making his own. To him I bet he would rather have this truck than a new car.
Let him do his thing. He is 15 and in a not so stance friendly place, so what if he has questions to ask. I guess you can say that the owner changes with the car(or truck in this case). The truck is shaping him as he shapes it, so wouldn't he be being built as well with the truck?
Does anyone remember Kaidotech? He was another member who was driven off by people giving him a hard time for his small updates and asking for peoples opinions. He was proud of his work, but people basically told him to piss off because they aren't expensive updates and they were far and few between. It seems that this forum feeds on the high budget "i can spend more money than my car is worth on wheels", rather than the "I am broke and I will work with what I have" kind of guys.
Sorry for my rant, hope you guys see what I mean.

ok...jeff you need to listen to what these guys are saying. You just said that you do not have the same experience, so learn and soak up everything they tell you like a sponge. they are here to help when you have a serious question. if you have a thought about a style or direction you might want to go, then research it and see what you think about it, then do research about how much it would cost and try to take your research and file it into something that you like and then make it fit your style or direction.
I was in the same boat as you when I was that age. I knew very little, wanted to learn, and was in a position that did not merritt itself to the stance community. So I read magazines till early in the morning, I searched threads like this, I researched how to do the things I wanted to do, but I asked very few questions for fear of this exact thing happening.
MommysLittleMonster...this is what happens in small towns like we live in. I happens with all the kids trying to do something to their car. This is why i rarely respect the kids in my town. Its all about drag racing and lifted trucks, and there is very little to draw inspiration from.
With that being said, Jeff I think that you need to focus on saving money and trying to do more research instead of bumping this thread sooooooo much. its not going anywhere and when you do have a big update it will be that much better to see that people care about the big update you have.

Keep a stiff upper lip and work hard, just keep it relevant and make sure to save your updates to when things actually happen.
I grew up in a town where my graduating class was 120 kids, so believe me, the "small town complex" is nothing new to me. I was in your shoes once too, we've all been there- young with almost no income and big hopes & dreams. We're not here to rain on your parade or beat you down, but you should take what we have to say in consideration- if you want us to take you seriously, listen to our advice.
Save up, plan hard, and do a ton of research. Search until your eyes bleed. Look at trucks that have gotten magazine features, sponsors, and a ton of praise; take note of what they did and how they did things to get that attention. Form an idea, and execute it- don't wait for us to decide for you, just do something. If someone doesn't like it, they'll give you input and advice.
It's not about "who spent more on their wheels", it's about "who took what they had and used it to the full potential?". I find low-buck builds on here more interesting than the high-dollar builds, mostly because low-buck builds involve a level of resourcefulness and commitment to follow through.BB6 Prelude . . I''ve just read so much things that I can't remember 95% of it. Belvader, if you don't know where you going with your build I think a Ranger-based forum would be better suited for all the questions you got and small updates.. To me stance works isn't really a build-thread friendly forum for this kind of vehicule.. Especially for people with less experience.. I bet and it looks like that half of this forum's members are here just to look at stanced hondas, bmws, merc, VWs and such with tons of sticker on the back glass.. Which is getting lame at the end... Some are of interest to me, the builds that are rare and unique, and I really find pointless for example(no ******) a guy that just bought a VW, bought set of wheels, and bagged it, becuz everybody does that. The point of this is theres no need to get 4000$ wheels to stand out of a crowd. I personnaly better love builds that people do put heart into and are not only doing it for the show, even if it's on a lower budget than a lot of people.
You've got a build going thats different of what we usually see, but I gotta agree with others that theres no need to update at every question you got or at each picture you are posting saying ''sorry for all the pictures''.. To me those are useless bumps if nothing really changed on the truck..
On mine at first I didn't know at all were it was going to end up.. All I knew is I wanted to put a turbo in a ranger at first.. I've bought all the stuff for it BEFORE even buying the truck.. But I did a LOT of research before, and as I built it it leaded to where it is at right now.. Few of my friends were telling me it was crap and would never work blah blah blah. Nowadays they find my truck sick. Just get a approximate plan of what you plan and no need to ask question for every little details like painting wheel caps.. I guess those are what might annoy some people here.. Do what you gotta do and what you like. It's YOUR truck at the end.. Like the other said after doing what you did people will tell opinions by theirselfs.. If I wasn't so stubborn about my build and listened at first to what people told me it wouldn't have ever happen.
You need to ask specific and useful questions if you want good answers... Vague questions gets vague answers..
Just my 2 cents..
So... To answer about the wheel spacers question.. :
You can get 2'' spacers from ebay, this is where I had bought mine for my old wheels.. But they were pretty cheap and after 2 summers when I unbolted them some of the studs broke off.. Still have 2 spacers in good shape and 2 other with 1 or 2 broken studs.. If you're interested I would sell them really cheap, but you'd have to switch some of the studs on em..Last edited by beluga420; 04-02-2013, 05:57 PM.

Nobody is complaining about this thread being low budget, or even the style of the truck. Just to many thread bumps with no progress made. If you want to show off pictures of the truck with nothing new happening to it post in the showroom. The idea of a build thread is to show progress of a build happening. Keyword being progress.
A ranger specific forum would be a great idea for a lot of the questions as they would be able to answer most of them for you, although they probably won't be that stance friendly. I myself post on stanceworks as well as a saturn specific forum. It's great for seeing what others have done to the same platform as well as troubleshooting and asking questions.
That being said I like this truck, this build is cool. I can't wait to see where this goes and what happens to it. Just trying to help.
Hope that didn't come across sounding like a dick

I don't know if the spacers are worth it. To me, if you're going to rock 15s on a mini truck they have to be stupid deep dish with stretched meaty tires (kinda like mine). I would just buy some jegs or summit steelies in 16x8 or 16x10 for this truck, kinda like beluga's setup. That or stay on craigslist, rednecks are always selling mud rims. As for the thread, I know what it's like being young and building a truck on a budget. The small shit you do, you tell your homies. The bigger updates are for forums. Build your truck the way you want, but remember as soon as it hits the internet you gotta accept criticism. $.02
