No name for it yet, Maybe I should start thinking a little harder about itOriginally posted by coconutt View PostNice rides and can't wait to see some progress. By the way, is there a name for the E28?

Yeah dude. Fuck Scions.Originally posted by nik View Postsums up my feelings as well.
So I've been kind of busy and slacking on posting updates, and I promise this thread won't die. Just been working on the boring stuff recently. Took one look at my cv boots and realized they needed some attention, so I totally rebuilt those, and while sitting in my garage going through everything, I noticed I already had a leak from somewhere. After further Investigation, I found out my rubber grommets that go between my brake fluid reservoir and master cylinder were totally rotted out and my reservoir was EMPTY. Glad I found it before it was too late! I'm still waiting for those grommets, which are keeping me from driving the car to get the fenders rolled
but they should be here tuesday.
I'll start with the beginning of last week. This is the last picture I took of my e21 before someone came and bought it. It was bittersweet, but I made good money and it was time to move on. I hope he enjoys the oil leaks and horrible 3 speed automatic more than I did hahaha.

Now that I had some sweet cash burning a hole in my pocket, I went ahead and ordered these for the xB. (center ones with brushed faces) SO STOKED!
they should be done in about 5-6 weeks. Then I can drool over them in my living room while it snows outside.
Then it was time to do some work on the 28. With my not so baller wheels I got, I wanted to add a little touch, so I pressed my OG center caps into my wheel spacers. It worked out pretty well! I may epoxy the back of them to ensure I don't lose one. or four.

Got my new Kidney grille installed, main grilles painted and installed, and bumper drilled and tucked. I think I need some 3m to stick that warped bumper cover down to the bumper. Yes that's my long travel sb v8 prerunner you see. Told you guys I have too many projects.

Now on to what I have been dreading since the day I bought the car. Seam sealer removal. This stuff is ridiculous compared to any other car I've owned. But it had to go if I wanted to get a good roll out of the fenders. So I ventured off to Lowe's for a wire wheel and some blue tape to protect the paint.

Then I sharpened a flat head screwdriver on my bench grinder to help along with the wire wheel and got to work. Here's a crappy picture of the end result. So clean!
I decided while I waited for my brake reservoir grommets, I better start shopping for some more exciting parts. I learned my lesson on my e21 by dragging the shit out the sub frame and oil pan.......

.... So I started doing some searching, and was excited to find a bolt on option for the e28 that was not offered for the e21. I was sold.
I began installing this tonight and wasn't completely happy with the provided mounting hardware, so I decided to change it up with some larger washers on all 4 corners, and instead of fishing the stupid nuts through the center of the sub-frame, I drilled all the way through it and am going to pick up some longer bolts tomorrow. I can't wait to make some sparks with it
I also got replacement exhaust hangers installed tonight but who cares about that.
And last but not least, I decided I needed to add some class to the interior. I have a grip royal wheel my "gay" xB and I love it. So of course I had to get one for my BMW. I chose to just go with the classic woodie. Only one problem though.... I ordered the wrong MOMO hub off of ebay
turns out they changed the style in the middle of 85 and mine is an earlier 85. Just my luck. But the seller is going to exchange it out and I should see the new one next week.
Thanks for looking! Expect more in the next few days......
