Nice progress since the last time I chimed in. How many coils did you end up removing in all? How many would have "been enough" in hindsight?

this is true haha i know my fenders are rolled to shit and i still rub but you can only go so far. less rubber equals more clearance hahaOriginally posted by xBDIRTY View PostHa! Thanks man, They do look pretty good for what they are. The rears rubbed pretty bad just above the rolled fender lip inside the fender well ( a combination of being too low and too aggressive.) I took a heat gun and hammer to them last night and got a lot of it to go away. At least with a half tank and only me riding in it. I can bitch about the rubbing all I want but I know I wouldn't want it any less aggressive or any higher. It just looks to good

Thank you, I don't remember how many I cut, both pretty much literally in half. If I did it again I'd probably take 1/2 to 3/4 less coils off on all corners if I didn't want any rubbing issuesOriginally posted by los02 View PostNice progress since the last time I chimed in. Hahaha. I'm hoping it will eventually just go away soon.Originally posted by BrandonMcKiernan View Postthis is true haha i know my fenders are rolled to shit and i still rub but you can only go so far. less rubber equals more clearance haha
thanks! I am surprised to hear someone actually likes my xB on here hahaha.Originally posted by rsingh3g View PostNice shots man. I like this car a lot, but not as much as your DB lol

So I haven't had much heat coming through my vents and with it getting colder it was pissing me off. So I decided to look into it more. Replaced my thermostat first, all that did was allow my temps to go up quicker (which is okay I guess?) so I tore into my heater control valve and the rubber boot was all stretched out and wouldn't seat properly, and the screen was all clogged up. I ordered a new one, hopefully it ends my dilemma. Crappy ipad photo for the helluvit.
Then i decided to tear into my manual to make sure I was actually operating the hvac controls properly. They don't give you many clues on the dash for what does what hahaha
I thought it was cool how many records were still in the glove box, and there were even more maintenance and repair records... Looks like the car was purchased from zipper bmw in Beverly Hills, CA. Kinda cool to know where it came from

Thanks! I am pretty stoked on the rolling shots, a car looks its best in motion IMO. I am usually a dark colored car fan, but the bronzit is definitely growing on me, and easier to keep looking cleanOriginally posted by Bronzit View PostLooks so dang good! I hadn't looked at this thread in awhile. Those rolling shots are amazing. I almost like Bronzit in this situation.

After reading through this thread, I really wish I was more active on this forum. Keep up the good work man. The doorcards look like they're a factory option, man I'm jealous. Also if you remember, how many coils did you cut on the e21 and did you have to do anything else to get it to sit like that? I'm currently saving up some money for a suspension redo on mine but don't want to be sitting so high till then.

The best thing to do is start with a couple, reinstall, and take one or 1/2 off at a time as desired. And that's all I did was cut the springs, no further notching, etc.
It all makes sense nowOriginally posted by rsingh3g View Postlol well duh I like the xB, because I am also a Scion owner. 2013 TC RS 8.0

I thought the heat didn't work in my E28 earlier this week. First time I've needed it since I bought it. Then I read somewhere that heat does not come out of the "face" vents, which happen to be the setting I had it on. I went to my garage the next day and switched it to defrost and to floor and guess what... I DO have heat.Originally posted by xBDIRTY View PostThen i decided to tear into my manual to make sure I was actually operating the hvac controls properly. So...

or

or

Hope the above makes sense.

Yeah I didn't have any heat, no matter what I did. I left the heater valve unplugged which leaves it open allowing the hot coolant to pass through and give me heat until my new valve shows up. I'd leave it ghetto rigged and unplugged but for 15 bucks I may as well just fix it. Thanks for the info anyways thoughOriginally posted by los02 View PostI thought the heat didn't work in my E28 earlier this week. First time I've needed it since I bought it.
