This thing actually looks pretty badass from far away in the pic with the MK2. I really can't describe the way this build makes me feel though haha, I'm like half scared for you.

Here's a bit of constructive criticism...It took me a few years to figure out.

                Car economics:

A free/cheap car is gonna cost more in the long run in frustration and work than buying the best one you can afford. Find a nice 02 in semi original shape and start having fun with that. Unless you spend some serious money on this car it won't be safe and stuff will keep breaking...

Just saying from mine and buddies' mistakes

yea, i mean i **** to chop up a classic, but classic rust isnt worth shit, also it is beyond a death trap, but ive none 65 on a public road before i did the floors, and other than those the car is solid, except some rust on the lower left spring seat, but i primered that today, i can also take the rear springs out effortlessly

ive had more than enough shitters to know that by now, but its not always about the money, the shittyness about this car is what makes it fun, i would love a clean 2002, but for now this will be fun to just show up at car shows in, i have other things i can daily, not that the mk2 is any more practical, i need to swap the trans on that, and its always doing this

a final note to end the night

I didn't do a ton of work today
first i took an expensive trip to the store and got a new toy
also ordered new calipers that will get here thursday $$$
i also got some bed liner to do the underside of my ghetto floors, and help fill the small gaps

this was the last big hole to fill

rather than cut up my last sign i figured i would use up my scraps from everything else
i had some issues finding places to screw it down, but thats what the bent pieces are for

                      also fixed the trunk latch
and hopefully this will keep the edge from tearing

while i had the bedliner out i decided to do the parcel shelf that is 98% rust

you may wonder why i dont run a grill,
because this is all the grill i have for it

                      autozone pinstripes

and a last picture for the day

                          key work somewhat

so i know this isnt the best place to ask but i figured why not.
should i return these calipers for my each $15 core fee, or are they rebuildable. i could always use them on a future 2002 that i end up with, just are they savable? the rust is pretty bad.

The "new" wheels make it 10x more bearible to look at. Although I am still scared for your life.

those calipers just need a good cleaning, they are definitely rebuildable as long as the pistons aren't seized in there

this is after a lot of brake parts cleaner and purple power, they each have atleast one seized piston, but i have heard you can clean off the rust on the pistons with fine sandpaper if they arent bad, however the one caliper has the heads of the pistons severely rusted
