bike is nice but engine size won't allow highway use, will it? seems like a lot of guys build some really nice looking bikes that are only good for city use. which is fine i guess...?

I didn't build the bike. I got it in a trade deal, and basically I would consider it's condition upon trade/purchase "running". It still hadnt had the brake light switch wired, the brake light didnt work obviously, I was having problems with the charging system, and the triple tree was broke, the tires are (still) and were dry rotted, etc...far from an everyday rider. With that being said, that's really the center of my goals for that piece of machinery, just make it 100% rideable, and safe, and obviously make it a little more aesthetically pleasing in the process. And yeah, basically the bike will NEVER hit the highway, it will just beat down the backroads round here, I prefer that really. haha And if I can skip it across the water, I will haha.

The jetta, is kind of funny. It's really in my opinion a "charming" car, it's just used/dented up/has paint issues, and has it's little quirks, like being semi-obnoxiously loud (speaking for me, which means that probably 90% of the general population would think it is quite obnoxious), it has shitty heat, no ac, crank windows, crank sunroof, no radio (may or may not put one in). And odd stuff like you have to tap the dimmer switch to make the gauge cluster light up sometimes, but for some reason every time you hop in it you (or at least I, and everyone that's rode in it) can't help but crack a smile, the car grabs every one of your senses, with it's 80's-90's VW musk, the rear tires dragging on the rolled fenders, or the lip dragging speedbumps and shit haha .

Granted I haven't got the pleasure of driving it much, nor the experience of the car at 100%, but I find myself becoming more and more attached to the car, I can just look at it and see things that I want to do, and more and more want to make it just a rad ass daily, that is a well balanced and will break necks. Which brings me to my next question, do I take away some of that vintage charm, and completely paint the bay/jambs/body, or leave it. Do I take the interior out and change the cracked dash, and make the mk3 cluster fit better (ocd is busting my balls about that), and cover the door panels/headliner with black alcantra (sorry no fucking trendy ass Louis Vuitton shit haha), or leave the somewhat clean 109k original interior, or put some heated mk3 leathers in there? I find myself wanting to modify every aspect of the car. It's addicting, so I guess this thread may be a little more in depth than I thought.

As for the probe, man no one understands it, not even me. They have shit transmissions, shit intake design, limited aftermarket, shitty engine management options, but for some reason I love em, I've had 6, but I will NEVER, EVER buy another. This is the last one, period. After that i'm done, so I guess it's just one of those things man, but I appreciate the love regardless, truly fellas. It's glad to see some people are interested in my junkpiles.

I can definitely agree, my car is fun when it's running correctly, and I can only imagine how hilarious it would be with like 400whp or something absurd...

Anyhow, I guess i'm going to continue to fight until the car runs, haha even though most of the time I really really don't want to.
