Lately i've been browsing the web a lot, trying to figure out which exhaust route i was going to choose. I discovered a couple days ago that the Raceland 8v headers also fit the ABA and clears everything with ease ( most of you mk1 dudes probably knew, but it was new info to me). Weirdly enough, someone in Bend was actually selling a new one on craigslist for relatively cheap. Called him yesterday and he still had it, a little bit of bartering and it was mine for a wopping $100.

Also a few books i picked up fo FREE from a buddy's dad who got sick of this place, moved to Hawaii, and left all his shit here.

Oh yeah and a shot of Gretchen (my mk2) without the center caps, took them off for a bit. Kinda dig it, but i know i'll eventually throw them back on... Once my MK1 runs i will be selling ol' gretch to fund it, so no need for a build thread. That being the reason i post pics of her on here.

Awww yeah. I've wanted to get into a MK1 coupe for a while as well. I found this on Craigslist for $600, and he accepted my offer of $500 and some extra wheels. Tell you what, I was, and still am one happy camper!

He was actually doing some today, and came to chill for a bit. Community service on his Birthday must have sucked haha. Next time i see him, i'll tell him for sure.

In other news i did a bit of painting on the bay today, turned out alright. Here's a shitty single picture of the paint while it was still drying. I'll get some more when i do some touch up after drying.

Yes sir. He's supposed to be doing community service at Tumalo school, but no one supervises him, so he just comes and helps with the jetter. He's helping someone with out getting paid, so that counts for something right?

I finished sanding the bay over the weekend with some help from Jon and Kip, and sprayed a layer of primer on today. Going to touch up the primer a bit tomorrow, and hopefully get it painted as well. A couple pics...

Thanks dude! I'd really like to do that as well, considering the matching core support is already there, and i have all the lights and grill to fit. I talked to Terry about the fender situation, he said it's really rare to come by them, but is possible with the right amount of patients. The ones on right now are from a Rabbit, so if it comes down to it, i will run them and swap the core supports. As for now, she's going to keep that un matching steez.. not so herrafrush.

Me too! I've been looking around and no luck yet. They seem to be quite difficult to locate.

Took me awhile to figure out what you meant by "famous potatoes" I hadn't even looked to see what the plates said, haha.

    Small updater

Got down and dirty trying to do some engine bay clean up, 28 years of grime is quite thick. Took 1.5 cans of degreaser so far and it's almost there. One more and a power wash should do the trick Next i'll be prepping the bay for some new paint, and re painting it white. As for the rest of the paint, I'm going to leave as is for now.

I have few other pictures here. This is how infested my parents shed is becoming with parts for the Jetta, i love it. (Sorry for the shithole pictures, it's dark in there and i'm using my cell phone to take em')

Tossed the Corrado rear seats in for fun, wondering how the hell i'm going to get the pups to fit. I really dig them, and they are stupidly comfortable.

Lastly here's a picture of the my MK1 all tucked back in the shed, and my MK2 VR6 parked out front. They just look so right together.
