I bought this car in July after searching for a clean one for a couple of months. I was very pleased to find this grey market import euro e24. My last car was this 89 325i with an M50B25TU swap.

The car was very quick and a blast to drive but, soon after the build, I decided I wanted to try the 'low and slow' thing for a while.
I ended up buying this e24 with a bad exhaust leak and a clunk in the rear end.

The exhaust leak turned out to be a broken downpipe flange. Lots of wrestling with the exhaust and 5 minutes of welding fixed that problem. I replaced all of the shifter bushings and put a new z3 shifter in it while the exhaust was out. The clunk from the rear end, luckily, was the differential mount. I gave the car some plugs and wires, an oil change, and a battery.
Next came the real work. After going back and for between coils and air, I caved and spent the money on a full Airlift setup for the car. With all of the information on this site, the job was not a huge deal. A bit of cutting, a bit of welding, and now the car can get down on the ground as well as make it over the big transition at the end of my driveway.

I got a very good deal on some 16x8 style 5s so I figured I'd rock them while refinishing the fittipaldi wheels. The problem is, now I really like the look of them on the car. I think they will stay until I can get some cash together for some M system turbine wheels.

I've got a laundry list of little problems to address still; non-op gauge cluster, exhaust rattle, idle is a little rough, front passenger brake is dragging, and I need some big spacers for the rear wheels to get them flush.
