well considering only two companies make coilovers for the 190e, and they're priced at $1500 and $2500 USD, i can see why he cut the springs.
OP, if you get some 400e or 500e springs and cut them, paired with billistein HDs you will have a much nicer ride. the higher spring rate makes them ideal for cutting and still retaining a nice ride. many people track with cut 400e springs, as they have a higher rate than even the stiffest aftermarket 190e lowering spring.

only talking shitty ebay ones .... you wikll only get the quailty of a coil over with a coil over ? im working on some suspention for the car but for the time being it had to be cuts

get one ! its real good mate , need a few things though .... bilstein shocks, 1 dot spring pads and a grinder lol the rides real good, similar to coilovers just need to take it easy cut streight you'll be fine
