i got the money refunded from the eBay store i bought the spacer/adapters from, so i can start the 5 lug swap
thats bound to be a fun project but im excited. it will be worth it in the future as a lot of the wheels i like come with 5x114.3 patterns, and even if they dont, the adapters will still be 5 to 5 lug adapters and will give me more flexibility for fitment, instead of 2 inch 4 to 5 lug adapters that suck.
What all needed for your conversion? Congrats on getting a legit set of wheels lol
Thanks. im wicked pumped. they aren't RS's but i dont give a fuck. they will look nice, and i got them for a steal.
im still working on my parts list but i think i have it pretty much figured out.
Front Hub
Front Spindle
Calipers
Caliper Holders
Rotors
Rear Hub
Bearings
Rear Brake Line
**Braided Line Upgrade**
Parking Brake Line
***Brake Proportioning Valve***
** while im under there i might upgrade the lines to braided lines. but i probably wont.
*** i think i need the brake valve becuase my car doesnt have 4 way discs already, unlike the GT model of my car that does. So ill need to steal that valve from a Tiburon or a GT version of my car.
no real updates on the wheels...just working on more sanding, getting rid of pits and stone chips. went down to 80 grit because 300 was taking forever. nothing really other than that.
******thinking******
i may have a set of center caps on ebay. im probably going to get them redrilled since the PCDs are the same, so a few of the holes can be re-used. also it has center caps, so nobody would know/it wouldn't look like ass.
I found someone who can redrill the wheels properly without compromising the wheel integrity.
I also may have a lead on center caps.
I also just finished sanding down one of the wheels that i accidentally brought down to metal and primer.
I had to respray like 4 coats of primer to get it to a point where i could get a smooth finish to lay paint on. but im going to leave them at primer until i get them re-drilled.
I<3elantras! Just in case you guys didnt know excited to see those wheels on. Winter is approaching here so i get to raise car and throw in snow tires yay.... NOT!
P.S hurry up on those wheels i wanna see them on yo car
i know. once i get the wheel that was brought down to primer/stripper and get a nice layer of primer thats smoothed ill get them redrilled. i cant wait to do a test fit either. but until i get a job i wont have money for wheels or spacers. but hopefully ill get the job im applying for.
well i have some updates. the wheels arent going exactly as planned. the re-driller got some stuff (dirt grime) and i cleaned them as best as i could, and i think it made the paint bubble up. also im not really happy with the masking i did, so i think im going to suck it up and try to get them powdercoated before Simply Clean 4. anyways heres some pictures.
well i finally got the wheels on! i got tires from Royal One Tires on Forsyth in Winter Park. shout out to them for getting my 195/45/15s in a day.
Also, shout out to Glory Powdercoating for getting the wheels done in 4 days.
ive had a busy 2 days Thursday and Friday, and didnt get a chance to take any pictures, but i will tomorrow at SIMPLY CLEAN 4 WOOOOOOOOHOHOHOHOOOO.
i felt that was needed.
anyways i should have some updated pictures of the car at SC4 and ill probably find a nice spot to take pictures alone too. also ill be taking pictures of my friend Emilio's '99 Civic Hatch to update his Showroom Thread
