so a while ago i posted a set of C4 corvette ZR1 wheels. they are the 17x9.5 welded two piece wheels and hot damn are they light. I had the center bore enlarged to e36 spec and i was going to run them, then i wasn't and now that i am refinishing them so i can put them up for sale i kind of want to run them again... we'll see if i end up buying large enough spacers to run them

anywho the wheels are almost done (i do custom wheel refinishing as a side job) and they are turning out pretty nice

    polished the lips up nice

stripping in the centers for some paint work

the center caps needed some work and i wanted them to match the rest of the wheels so it was time to break out the painters tape and knife

    Update time!

This has been in the works for a while but today we finalized all the documentation so i am happy to announce that the BMW and my Opel will be moving into a new permanent shop space. We have decided to call the place The Church of the Lowered (yeah i know, not the most original hehe). While not a commercial shop it is more like my last place in that it is a club house for the five us who will be working in the church.

we have a pretty insane mix of projects that are moving to the shop from e30 M3s to a 1000HP lexus IS to big turbo 2.7TTs to a early 70s merc on air

i have not looked forward to a winter this much since my last year on tour...

    Nice thread, sub.ed
yeah i put a washer in on both sides, the car came with the coils already installed and i am going to see if i can get poly or delrin bushings for the bottom of the struts since i already have a pair of delrin upper shock mounts waiting to go in this winter.

going to the junk yard on wednesday to grab as much stuff as i can. i am pretty sure there is an LSD waiting in the yard for me

    update time!

So went to the dyno day and the results were lets just say mixed...

one the plus side the car made 175whp and 185lbs/ft and all three runs were super consistent so it was nice to know that the motor is nice and healthy.

on the negative side this happened

the car was strapped to the dyno via the strut and the strut was pulled off of the bushing. I heard bolt knocking around in the hole of the strut right after i pulled away from the the event. John and i went to arby's before the car went on the dyno and it was just fine. I knew exactly what the sound was, pulled to the side of the road, looked under the car that is what i saw.

i had zero interest in having the shop correcting the issue since i knew i could fix it myself so today i put the car up on ramps at my dad's, pulled the strut pressed the bushing back in (it was a bitch but at least i was able to confirm that it didn't just "fall out") and now the car is just fine.

Moral of the story: don't strap a car down via the strut, from now on i am only running my car on DB Performance's dyno since they have earned my business with quality service.

went down to my friend Craig's place after work today to try one his spare amps. Since i bought the car none of the front speakers have worked. i figured it was either the headunit or the amp and i was right, the amp was bad. bought craig's working spare and now i finally have sound from all four corners.

that being said the speakers themselves have seen better days and need to be replaced. i want to keep everything as OEM looking as possible so i am looking to order this speaker upgrade package from BSW

This weekend my father and i are going to modify the OEM headunit so i have an AUX cable. Currently i have a tapedeck adaptor but i really don't like the audio quality from it so i am going to follow this DIY. My dad is a far more competent with a soldering iron and we have been looking for projects to do together so this will do quite nicely.

windows stopped working in the car today and i'm at a bit of a loss since my DMM was stollen out of my garage a while ago.

I did want to do something today so i decided to sort my airbox out. I went to ACE and found a plug that fit into the hole that is in the OBD1 box and put the airbox in the car. SOOOOOO happy with how it looks now, i really ***** the old "intake"

    ugh so cheap looking....
