That being said, I live in Chapel Hill and I've seen you around before a number of times. Car looks good man! Does need to be a hair lower though.

Yeah I check every day. They're always at 35 psi. And I know it's getting really annoying I'm not sure if it's the tires or the wheels.

well you should consider running a higher psi. 35 is fine for regular tires, but when they're stretched you should run more. i run 41 on my 205/40 on an 8.5" and have never had problems, even with hard driving.

This is information I like to hear. I'll make sure to do that. I need two new tires now. This one has had it. And i don't trust it.

go for falken 502's. they stretch nicely, and have a rim protector which makes the stretch look better. they were the replacements for the 512's, i believe.

Also, I have a friend who is running 215/40s on a 16x9 wheel and he has to run around 40psi to keep his tires from leaking/popping off. That's with Falken 912s.

HAHA! Went to a friends race shop and found me some tires! They 225/40 instead of 205/40 so i'll have to see how that goes. It'll be close and i'll probably have to run spacerless in the rear.



Here's how the car looks now. I cleaned up the bottle caps and they don't look half bad. Also here is a quote from some dumbass redneck at the gas station this morning. *Ignorant redneck voice* "The ones on the front look better than the ones on the back." NO SHIT!



My original goal was to go lower this weekend but that's off because of the tires. And also I found this. I guess the rubbing was a little worse than I thought.



So I decided to try and resolve that issue a bit.


I used a dremmel and those little mini cut off wheels. Took my time. Then I took a sanding bit to them and now they're super smooth. I just need to repaint them and try and sand down any extra rust I find


Get the tires on Friday. Fingers crossed they fit with no issues. If not i'll have to break out the trusty old "fender roller." Also the coil and plug wires didn't fit

More stuff done! Got them tires put on. They stretch. But barely.



I was right. I had to take out the spacers. I only cut out on fender just to see. Basically with the spacer on the cut fender it rubbed. and with an uncut fender and no spacer it rubbed too. The only option was to pull both spacers and cut both fenders. Now I don't rub at all. Which is wonderful. And for the first time I can say DAT ASSSSS every time I see my car from behind. I'm really pleased. Here's a pic of the clearance with a cut fender and a spacer.

Here's the second cutout fender I used the grinder instead of the dremmel and it worked pretty well.


And finally a preview of the exhaust. Basically what I'm doing is lengthening the main piping and I cut out the curved pipes and re did them to fit the curves on the E28. Should work pretty well.

Well the majority of my break was spent on my exhaust. I learned a lot about welding in the process. My welds got progressively better as I went along

This was my first attempt not to good.



Then I actually got a good one.



Then I welded on the curves.



Once the curves were on I test fitted it. It didn't fit properly so I had to go get some more connectors. I got them on pretty quick. By that point I had gotten the wire speed where I needed and I was doing a little better.



I needed a hanger so I cut the old one off and re positioned it. These were really good i could pick the entire thing up and these welds weren't even flexing.


Here it is all finished up. Extended and curved to fit.


I stuck it on and the 2" connectors I used were a little to big so I think it put to much stress on the welds and as I was leaving my driveway it ripped off.

So to end my story I drove all the way back to Charlotte basically open headers. It was brutal. I had to wear ear plugs.

Grab a whole bunch of scrap metal, as much as you can get your hands on and practice, practice, practice.

I have the same exact wheels (19's and for sale) on my e24 but it doesnt quite pull it off like your e28, nice whip bro!
